The Atomic Apples piece was awesome. Straight to the point, no BS. Regarding Wallace: I never understood how he got that kind of money. The guy has ALWAYS been an overrated defender who got a big boost from Detroit's acquisition of R. Wallace. I never understood the hype except maybe casual fans associate a lean, muscular (but undersized) black dude with an afro as a "gritty" player. My jaw dropped when I saw Chicago give franchise player-type money to an undersized, over the hill, no offensive skill Center who never struck me as a leader or even a good team mate. He did, after all, have a part in the Auburn Hills brawl. (side note: I wish the fight with him and Artest had really gone down so we could witness the dismantling of "Big Ben" - it would have happened). I don't know much about Noah but he seems like Dennis Rodman Jr. but I doubt he'll be anywhere near that type of talent.

Will respectfully disagree that B Wallace was always overrated. Pre-championship, Wallace was on Garnett level of being able to defend his man and help-defend every where else on the court. Wallace also got a fair amount of steals. Do think the "Big Ben" thing's gotten to his head a little. The whole fro-for-a-week switch to cornrow the next, head banded "throwback" image...Dennis Rodman never forgot that he was a maximum effort player. Big Ben however...
I disagree.. I think he bit his bottom lip and tried to shrug it off the best he could. What happened immediately after was the classic case of the "final straw that broke the camel's back". In a fight I think Ron could take Big Ben, or atleast be a fairly even match. Ron's crazier, and just as big. Ben is just more cut.
dont mention d.rodman and bigmoneyfakefro man in the same context please i prefer to call rodman "the janitor" (obviously a good pun) but i remember watching janitor play solid clean D and keep shaq at bay, being half a foot shorter then him and outrebounding both teams combined if rodman had never gone wacko he'd have set the bar for defensive rebounding to all time highs to which no one would touch the reason bigfakefromoney man got popular is cuz sheed and him had it ez cuz they both played help defense on each other's man down low in the paint aka, lotsa blocks/rebounds came rather then solo style now he's getting 60million for getting a front row seat to all nba games guess he's alot smarter then me/u. can't knock em for that
I think a trade with new york would be beneficial for both teams. zach randolph will be the low post scorer bulls need. ben wallace would be defender next to curry. both teams get different cancers . but maybe their play might change.
Yeah, that's a good one. I prefer Madsen a little bit because he and Noah are equally: (1) annoying, (2) bricklaying, (3) hyper, and (4) bound to the pine most of the time.
Stupid rookie has no room to act like this in the NBA. So what if he is use to winning. This is the NBA, you can't always have it your way. Especially if you're some punk rookie. Wallace should have knocked him out so he can be humbled. In fact, I think all rookies need to be humbled some way or another. It would have done V-Span wonders if Deke gave him the famous "Mutombows" right in the face and said, "Sit your rookie ass down and shut up." Well, considering how he just bailed on us, that probably would have made situations worst.....or funnier.
Noah should be a Rocket. He is smart. He is pissed at Wallace and found the perfect moment to pick a fight with Wallace in order to make Wallace look like a loser. Very savvy media play. Van Gundy-esque. Of course, Ben Wallace helped him out for being the ass that he is.
I don't see why y'all get on Noah for this scenario. Wallace was laughing, Noah wouldn't have it. Thats beautiful. Rookie or not... Wallace should be embarrassed. How can you vote to suspend a player then get caught in a tickle fight at the end of a nasty loss. Kudos to Noah. He is a player I hated coming out. Didn't think he had much game or a great attitude. I have much more respect for him now. If Aaron Brooks yelled at McGrady for taking jumpers all game then laughing on the bench while we are down 20 I would be all for it. It embarrasses that star veteran. Makes them realize they need to shape up.
Ben got that contract because Paxson gambled that his decline had more to do with being unhappy in Detroit (he openly quit on the team his final 18 months there) than anything else. Unfortunately, Wallace took the money and still doesn't show any motivation. Pax was hoping for a resurgence like we're seeing in KG now, but he busted. Didn't Duhon come out right after Skiles was canned and say "if you're making $60 million and still not producing, there's no more excuses for you"? Either way, Noah's not the first Bull to show frustration with Ben. I want to say Hinrich subtly made a comment as well. A lot of similar problems with our team and theirs. But this is a prime example of why I want absolutely nothing to do with Ben Wallace, even if it meant we got Deng or Hinrich in the bargain. At this point, he's a cancer. Evan
I don't think he openly quit, in his last 18 months the team took the Spurs to 7 games, then had a great regular season before folding to the Heat. You could tell there were problems between Wallace and Flip Saunders, Wallace started 'running the team' back then, of course the vets on the Pistons still run the team and it's not a problem. I'll take the Wallace contract if it meant getting Deng + Noah.
We'll never know but FYI, Ron is heavier, only an inch shorter, probably has a greater wingspan and is the son of a boxer. Big Ben is lean and has a 'fro. Advantage Artest.
I am only on Noah b/c he is a over-hyped version of Mark Madsen. He's a no-talent clown who played with an amazing college club. I like that he hates losing... so does Madsen.
Concur. However, the latest rumor on the Bulls is that Tyrus Thomas -- not Noah -- is "tradeable." IMO the Bulls have discovered what everybody knew but didn't want to admit -- Thomas is too small to be a PF and has no range on his shot to play SF. He is a classic 'tweener.
