[NOAA] Between three and six major hurricanes in 2014

No dumber when the media said a hurricane would pick up oil from the gulf spill and turn into a fire hurricane.

 

Sounds like a new movie idea for the sci-fi channel.

Whether the forecast is accurate or not, I still see no application for my life. 12 hurricanes that all hit Florida doesn't matter much to me. But, a year in which there is only one hurricane and it happens to hit Houston -- that's a bad year. I'm sure this information is useful to offshore oil companies, orange plantation owners, and the like, it's not really useful to the private citizen until they can tell you where the hurricanes are going to go.
