Organic... Chemistry? Where do you teach? Don't worry I am NOT a vengeful student, but if you don't want to get too personal, I understand... I also work at a local college in an academic capacity so I know how it goes.
It's insane in NYC. Must be 6-7 inches on the ground. It's blizzarding like a mo-fo right now, and it won't stop until midnight. Will I have work tomorrow? Unfortunately, yes. Stupid underground subways...
I teach at a small college in the Hill Country... don't think any of my students would be on this board. (We're in Spurs country, anyway.) Unfortunately I'm at least 4 hours from Houston - always hoped I'd get to come back to the area and teach... well, I guess not. Probably better for my career this way (though not for my social life). Yep, Organic Chemistry. Those of you who studied science or were premed might have fun memories of this. I spent a whole lot of my weekend prepping an experiment (since my student workers chose to pull a disappearing act on Friday) - trying to find ferric chloride, going to the trouble to look up a good substitute, then finding out that we had the ferric chloride after all (if the people had been around to find it for me... I don't know where they put stuff). Labs are a pain, and not just for students... Hope all those affected by the blizzard are doing OK/ have enough provisions to get snowed in for a while. (I want to get snowed in... at least I could get some sleep... provided, of course, that school was canceled for a while. )
I am in my Jr year of high school and i am in Chemistry right now, hate it so much, my teacher is a freaking idiot, gives us these quizzes called a or f's and there usually 10 questions and if you miss more than 1 u get a F and u have to come in the mornings as long as it takes you to get an A freaking pisses me off!!!!
I guess this a bad time to tell all you yanks who are freezing that I am going to North Shore, HI this week, huh... he he
I am sitting in my office. it is 3:47 PM I have recived some 100 plus calls asking for emergency plowing of driveways/shoveling. in my company I am the only person in the office. of our laborers, none are working, just the company owner and his son who are a bit sadistic. our plowing driveways and rescuing people in their cars. there is a rediculously high tide, and there is a decent chance that the ferry i take to go home will be closed. so the office and i may get really familiar untill low tide I actually enjoy this, but I learned to drive in the snow, and kind of miss blzzard like conditions. I figure we have made about 10k in plowing today wich isnt too shabby. and besides its like more exciting than just building houses. normally I call about lumber orders and stuff, today I am like everyones hero besides I was pretty much told i was going to be taking over my company as my boss is likely geting fired. I guess it helps to know the owner. I really would rather be sleeping though. I love NY
