No wonder Bullard lost the Dream Job contest.

I'm not worried about who says what about us. If you read this thread, I nver tried to make a point that Bullard was a traitor. He can think what he wants to.

My point was that it was a dumb comment to make and Bullard backed that up by backtracking on his original statement after Worrell pointed out his ignorance. Props to the veteran looking out for the rookie.

    :D

and MY point was we fans are scrutinizing every little sound clip about the Rockets, no matter who says it, especially an ex-rocket who speaks highly of  GASP:eek: another NBA owner

As the subject line says... I understand why he lost the contest. You have to be careful what you let fly out of your piehole when you are on a broadcast. What he said was dumb under the circumstances.

It's also well know most of the owners do not like Mark Cuban.

You may disagree with what Skillz says, but at least he's making an argument instead of plain hating.

I personally find Cuban's antics tiresome, but at least he has a passion for the game.

I have emailed Mark Cuban and have discussed a biz opportunity with him, he is amazingly accessible, and I would prefer to have him as the owner of the Rockets over Les.

I am happy with Les, just think Cuban is a better owner.

I was very cordial to him in my e-mail
and he did not respond. As he is with everything else he picks and chooses when he acts civil. When it comes to his basketball team, he has no objectivity.

Les doesn't meddle with his team the way Cuban does. I prefer Les, he has scoreboard over Cuban with 2 rings.

    Skillz,

Cuban is very eccentric. He's all emotion on the sidelines and is a pure-to-heart HOMER! That's just the way he is. A few years ago when he bought the team, I was like, "Who the heck does this guy think he is?!?!"

It's clear that he never looks at any of the games with any objectivity (when the Mavs are playing). He's an owner, but when he sits in the stands, he's pure-HOMER for the Mavs. That's just the way it is. He takes the same attitude a coach would for their respective team: Defend their players at all cost no matter what.

After I read some of his interviews. And watched him on TV a few times, I got to know him more and understood where he was coming from. He admits it was dumb for him to rush on the court when there was a fight. He admits that he's silly and acts like a buffoon sometimes. But he explains that sometimes he gets excited and over-reacts to the refs calls. He's an emotional guy who's just defending his players.

Most NBA fans know by now where he's coming from -- even though he might still annoy them. That's why you don't see as many TV spots about him "acting up." They just say, "Oh, that's just Cuban acting goofy again."

And yes, he's whiny in the stands. But he's being a crazy fan. Not an owner.

It's stupid for them to hate him...they only hate him cuase he says everything they don't and the fact that he is willing to spend money to make things happen so their players probably sit there saying why can't you do this and that for us and they don't like him for it...

They guy has done some good work and added some character to the owners of the league instead of those old fart stiffs.

Cuban is the best owner in the NBA. He turned Dallas around into a post wherre FAs actually want to go now. The players get treated like kings, but yet they know that the buck stops at a certain place. Mavericks fans are extremely lucky to have a guy like Cuban who is more than willing to spend money to make money. I dont live in Houston, so I cant really say my opinion of the marketing that Les puts in for the Rox, but I guarantee that were Cuban in there running the show, the TC would be sold out every night with fans making the noise that we could only dream about.

Well, you just lost all your credibility right there. Now we know you are an NBA ref in disguise. ;) So, are you Joey Crawford? Nah, he gave too many calls to the Mavs the other day, you must be Steve Javie or Ron Garretson..Dick Bavetta is too old to know how to use a computer, and Jack Nies would have much more profanity in his posts. Maybe you're one of the lesser known junior refs.

They don't like him because he's an immauture jerk who constantly badmouths the product they sell. Refs make bad calls for both teams, Cuban needs to quit whining. He b****es about something that is never going to be perfect and he's got his fans, coaches and players doing the same thing. It's not good for the league if Cuban gets every NBA Fan to think the games are not worth watching because of poor officiating.

The owners also think statements like "Kobe getting arrested for rape is a good thing because it brings attention to the league" is idiotic drivel.

Also, there is a salary cap. Almost every team is at or over the cap, so those owners are spending money too. As far as spending money for lavish players locker rooms.....yeah they need more pampering.

Cuban is a character, he didn't add any good character to the league. Acting obnoxious is not a good character trait...

Well except for the MVP Candidate Steve Nash, wait, they lost him to the Suns....

What great Free Agent has Dallas signed?

No one buys tickets because of who the owner of the team is. If the owner puts a good product on the floor, fans will come. The Mavericks will have their turn at the bottom of the NBA heap again some day and attendance will suffer because of it.

Exactly, he's doing someone else's job. He needs to quit trying to be a part of the show. If he wants to act like a fan, sit farther up in the stands and drink beer and yell his ass off.

No matter what = makes his team look like whiners as a result of his actions.

Yeah....those self promoting interviews do wonders to turn around a jerk's image....

Great. Step 1 is admitting the problem. Maybe he can progress to Step 2, stop doing it.

Oh, well...rage on.... = You are right, I lost the debate, Cuban is a tool.

The best thing about watching Dallas lose to anyone is the "somebody just pissed in my Cheerios look" Cuban always has on his face when his team loses".
