Yeah, ace defensive specialist Brent Barry is the exactly the kind of guy who would have stopped Arroyo from driving the lane at will.
I just don't feel like this is my thread and am finding it hard to support it with out a rational poster for me to relate to. I know we are all Rocket fans but I mean really, who believes that?
Look whos representing our US team...BOOZER!!?!?!?! Carlos Freakin BOOZER!!!!!!!!!!.....OMG this team is a big joke
i dont think you can blame the players that are playing for this travesty...they came to play. blame the other guys. tmac? come on man that security issues excuse is lame. what was garnetts excuse? rest? these guys get paid MILLIONS OF DOLLARS and they cant take a month of their precious time to play for their country? give me a break. i take it personally. give something back. youre a ****ing millionare. take a month out of your time to represent your country.
man...stop whining. it's not boozer that's a problem on the team. i mean damn, every other team out there works their strategy around their star players. china has horrible guards - yao scores 39 and they win. puerto rico has good guards - they play an outside game and they win. all of the other countries work off of the players they have. team USA always makes excuses over the players they DON'T have. i mean, sure, they would be better with garnett - but what if duncan played for USVI (i know he doesn't have the option now, i'm saying what if they had a program years ago - he would never be playing for the US). the fact is, team USA has the most talented team in the Olympics - yet people complain about whatever players being on the team and whatnot. it really doesn't matter - you gotta work with what you got - and Larry Brown needs to figure out a team to win. They seem successful if they run through Duncan - they gotta do that more. Iverson and Duncan gotta take control - or somebody else. Any one of these players would have to take control of their team if they were playing for any other team - so they need to get motivated to do the same here.
I've always said this, you cannot underestimate diversity and it's profound impact. Having different people on your team would indeed help for any number of reasons. It's not always about who is the best player. Sometimes it's about who helps the team get better. A good example would be Rudy. He wasn't a football player. But he made all the football players better.
Yeah... I miss RUDY T. Anyway, yeap. The U.S. National Team SUCKS ASS and I will never root for SPOILED, RICH, EGOTISTICAL children playing against the world ELITE even though I live here...
DOUBLE POST: I just want to know if the U.S. will play an African team so I can get confused about who's who... ... maybe the African team will have ALL the white dudes and will beat the U.S. national team...?
Im just sayin we could of gotten someone better, but BOOZER?!?!?! out of all the NBA players they chose BOOZER?!?! Stoudemire?!?! Marion?!?! Escpecially JEFFERSON!!!!!!!!!!!!? This is no Dream Team, its a Dream gone Bad
Boozer's ability to square up and hit the 15-footer, as well as his willingness to be a role player, fit well in the international game. Why does the selection committee have such a man crush on Richard Jefferson though? I don't get it. If they just wanted a slasher/dunker who can't shoot for crap, they should have gone with Desmond Mason.
