This forum is weird sometimes. It's like we are all having to chip in a dollar every time someone starts a new thread the way you guys complain about it.

Why not just have one thread in the whole forum and call it "Rockets Stuff" Everything is basically Rockets stuff here, so just put it all into one long thread.

I say WE STAY PUT & FORGET ABOUT TRADING for Howard or Bynum

Why give up our promising core of young players (Donuts, Rolls, TJones, & Lamb) along with our draft picks including a mid to high end draft picks depending on our record this year and instead.....

Take our chances in Free Agency?

We have no superstar max contracts given out to anybody & we can offer Bynum or Howard (if still available) the max.

Why not keep our young players, Lin, tank, get another prized draft pick which is basically automatic because Morey is our GM & he never misses, & offer the best free agent the max deal?

    Whose coming with me?

Perhaps this would fit well under any of the other Dwight Howard/Andrew Bynum threads that currently exist.

    Are you with me? :p

Horrible idea. The NBA is about the short term. This isn't the Astros needing to rebuild their minor league system from the ground up. You pro-tankers are missing the point.

This team is really only about a star away from being in the upper echelon of the western conference.

lol. A lot of people on here don't seem to understand what a superstar is. Lin is one, whether he should be or not. That's the reason for all this hoopla surrounding the signing, and for all the jersey sales and whatnot. That isn't to say that talent-wise he's in the same class as the great, franchise players of the league, which is what you seem to be referring to when you say "superstar." But being a "superstar" isn't just about how good a player is.

f*uck a D12! to the extent houston is riding this dudes john is so sad. doesnt want to be here, wouldnt be surprised if he came and magically got injured again, & i dont believe he has the will to carry houston's "market"

get asik play the rooks, make sure they understand its NBA game time every night and the pressure is on to prove they belong. so what we might tank.. so be it. we have a promising exciting squad, i mean we aint Charlotte!

Morey has already made a series of moves with the intention to trying to get Dwight Howard. Now he has a team full of inexperienced players with a coach whose experience is one shorten season. If he can get a reasonable trade where he wont have to sacrifice too much he may have to deal with Orlando. So long as he is still in communication with Orlando anything is possible. The Lakers are also making a play so this might force Morey's hand.

    Boston had:
Rondo, Al Jefferson, Perkins, Gomes, Delonte West, Gerald Green, Tony Allen, 5th pick (turned into Jeff Green), and Paul Pierce

That is a lot of young talent, and looked pretty good at that time (still pretty good looking even now), but do you think they will win a championship if they had kept their young guys instead of trade for big 3?
