From what I remember....you were calling Bonzi some pretty mean names. You make contradicting statements all the time. When a member asked if you think Snyder should play instead, since you were complimenting his game....i think you said no. So you like his athleticism but you dont want him to play ahead of Bonzi? Please make up your mind, as you are confusing me and maybe some others.
I had a feeling this was going to be a really quiet deadline for a lot of teams. Other than Iverson, no big names moved and his deal was done a month ago.
WTF are you talking about, go back and read the thread, I said his game does not necessarily fit on this Rockets team and we need someone who is more athletic like Synder playing. Reading comprehension is a good thing...use it. DD
I'm disappointed, Alston will be eaten alive in the playoffs. Every team we could face will have a far superior PG, in every aspect of the game. And, we needed an outside shooter in the worst way. I still like our chances with Wells coming around and Yao coming back, but doing nothing does not help the cause.
I still hope Francis gets bought out and we can pick him up. In fact, I personally think Francis is still a much better player than James and that would be much more of a steal.
There was no trade available that made the Rockets definitely better. No doubt they need to be better in some areas, but self restraint is not a bad thing. Dawson is usually very aggressive, so I bet he would've made a trade if there was one to be had. As I said on another thread, I don't think James makes sense for the Rockets right now. I like the IDEA of having him, but I'm not sure it helps us win a single extra playoff game. The simple facts are still pretty good. Despite the holes, the Rockets are fifth in NBA w/o Yao. Dallas and Phoenix are the favorites, and should be, but the Rockets are the one team in the West that can upset those two teams. Spurs are playing better, but the Rockets will be better with Yao. So, I say good job Dawson.
No doubt. It would almost be too good to be true. If Francis could defer to McGrady and Yao, then they would be pretty tough to be beat. I just don't think it will happen though. Knicks owe him too much and Francis is likely to take too low of a buy-out, unless he wants a championship that bad.
honestly imo, he's not. last night's game wasn't an abnormality, luther just can't handle the rock under any type of pressure... we needed a quality pg (james, atkins) and we didn't get one, so i wouldn't consider the deadline passing a good thing. come playoff time, i don't think we'll be able to mask our weak pg play, but i sure as hell hope we do.
Well, it takes two to tango. If no one is offering an useful player at a reasonable price, a trade won't happen. Dawson has never been one to try and screw other team, so if a trade didn't happen, it's because no useful one is available.
I think its the anticipation that some big trade would happen and make us a favorite contender. That almost never happens, happened with tmac but other than that everyone just wants to see a new face in their team and that is the lackluster truth about the trade deadline, hardly anything happens that has a huge impact for any teams, much less the rockets who have a pretty solid rotation.
good day. no stupid contracts that is going to logjam the rox for years. this team is not perfect, but it CAN get the job done. bring it dallas
Me too. A semi-major trade I would have liked would be: OUTGOING: Bonzi + Sura + VSpan = $6.8MM INCOMING: SamIAm Cassell = $6.8MM I would have enjoyed see him finish in Houston. Always enjoyed his clutch play. He'd be a great at 15-20 minutes per game this year and next.
Bynum is a Jersey boy and he has great potential. Nets made a great plan, but lakers has a schrewd managerment team and coach, "Win Now" is not their policy, they have great future with those young guys.
You mean you would have enjoyed seeing him finish his career on the injured list right? Cuase that is where he seems to spend alot of time these days, adn there is no reason to believe next year would be any better. bad bad trade idea. While it would have been nice to shore up the last remaining weak spot, I dont think not doing it keeps us from having a chance at the finals (unlike some so called fans) this team has shown they can play with the big boys without Yao (they were just unable to finish) with Yao, we got just as good a shot (better actually) of beating the top three teams in a seven game series. that is what I believe and there aint no worn-out arguments gonna change that.
Dallas traded Anthony Johnson away for a 2nd round pick. Thats definately a guy I wish Rockets couldve gotten but theres no way Dallas was gonna work with us.
