Yeah the Titans are really something to be proud of......kinda like the Horns last night. Signed, The entire state of Kansas.
Im damn proud of the horns this season, colt mccoy injury took us out of that game, our defense gave up way to many big plays and it just wasnt meant to be this year, and in regards to titans they werents supposed to be good this year/vince wasnt going to make them a playoff team in 1 year, but give him 2-3 years and the afc south will be a battle witht he colts, texans wont even be on the map, Hook em National champions 2005
My problem is that if the cowboys were in a similar position, they certainly wouldn't even consider not televising them in Austin. We can complain to KEYE all we want, but they simply don't care. It just makes it worse when the local radio station that was supposed to carry them has dropped the games as well. If they seriously think their ratings are going to be better for the Titans, they're very mistaken. The Titans, Vince or no Vince, are just as or worse than the Texans. Vince doesn't make them exciting. They suck, period.
The Cowboys have enough of a history that they have a pretty solid historical fanbase - the Texans do not have that yet. Why should a TV station be expected to carry something that no one watches?
In favor of an out of state game that no one's going to watch? Also, it's kind of hard for them to help build a fan base if they aren't going to televise them.
It's not K-EYE's job to help the Texans build a fan base. K-EYE's job is to get viewers for their station. A few Titans have been televised over the last few weeks - I imagine they have enough data from that to figure out what the best match up to show is. Last year, they simply went to the major national game instead of Texans games. These stations are not stupid - they know how to program and what will get the most viewers. If they take the local team off TV, you can be sure they had good data to support that.
The guide right now says the Titans game will be on, but who knows. Last week, it said the Texans game would be on, I think.
I've called KEYE and they claimed that they are in fact showing the Texans game this weekend. I'd advise that any of you who don't trust that (much like I don't) should call... CBS 42 10700 Metric Blvd. Austin, TX 78758 Phone: (512) 835-0042 Fax: (512) 837-6753
Honestly, I can't remember four guys so polarizing football fandom in recent memory. The funny thing is, the polarization has only happened in Texas. And, in five years, nobody will give a crap.
I like Vince, as everyone knows, but I would prefer to watch the Texans, I am enjoying their progress. DD
I think KEYE's email repsonse shows how wrong you are, you are the minority who wants to watch the texans, titans bring in better rankings
How can someone's preference be wrong? This take is full of BS. I'm in the minority, too. The majority want to watch the Cowboys. Does that make me "wrong"? No, different. You're *not* a bandwaggoning, shallow, spoon-fed ingrate who jumps from ship to ship based on who just won or who has UT guys on their team, and leroy is *not* "wrong" for supporting his hometown team simply because they are his hometown team, regardless of how bad they suck.
I think the part that was wrong was this: If they seriously think their ratings are going to be better for the Titans, they're very mistaken. KEYE's numbers say this isn't true.
I jump ship to ship? i was a titans fan when they left houston (and got plenty of crap for it) but thanks for your analysis, i wore my jevon kearse jersey when the texans finally beat the titans last year, i never said leroy was "wrong" for supporting the texans but to get mad because KEYE took them off to get better ratings.
i think you misread leroy's post..to which mrdave was responding. leroy said, "If they seriously think their ratings are going to be better for the Titans, they're very mistaken. The Titans, Vince or no Vince, are just as or worse than the Texans. Vince doesn't make them exciting. They suck, period." The email from the station, which talked about number of households watching Texans vs. number of households watching Titans suggest that leroy was wrong.
