exactly, if tmac and yao were playing the entire season, we'd probably have the #1 seed right now preparing to face the nuggets/hornets ready for at most a 5-game series. sighs - that's the feeling of rocket fans the last few yrs.
If our role players aren't good enough to beat the Sonics, thing don't look good for the playoffs anyway. A good test tonight.
In fact, if the rockets could not win this game without Tmac, they wouldn't win a playoff series with him.
We should still win this game with or without tmac...On the bright side Scola gonna get more shots and minutes and gonna help me in fantasy with Tmac out
Matt works for 610, he's solid but since there are so many naysayers.... http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/5688299.html April 9, 2008, 6:57PM McGrady skips Rockets game to rest sore shoulder By JONATHAN FEIGEN Copyright 2008 Houston Chronicle Rockets guard Tracy McGrady will sit out Wednesday's game because of soreness in his strained and bruised left shoulder, but said he would be able to play against the Suns on Friday. Luther Head will start in place of McGrady. "It's already calming down," McGrady said before the game. "I will play Friday. "It's been an issue. Hopefully, (today) it won't be an issue. I had to get it injected yesterday. Tonight, I'm definitely out of the game. But I think long-term, as far as moving forward, it should be no problem." McGrady had an injection of anti-inflammatories on Tuesday, but unlike previous injections, Tuesday's was into the joint area. "He went yesterday and saw Dr. (Tom) Clanton," Rockets athletic trainer Keith Jones said. "He had an injection. That in itself makes it a little sore. It's a little bit stronger, longer lasting. The other ones are inter-muscular. This one is into the joint itself. Any time you go into such a tight space, it gets sore. "This will take some of the inflammation out of it going forward and into the playoffs. That was our best way to go at it." McGrady said on Wednesday that he thought he would have been able to play if the game was a playoff game, but thought it would be fine by the time the playoffs begin. Jones said that playing with the injury would not slow the healing process. "I could play if I had to," McGrady said. "It's pretty sore from the injection, but yeah, I could play if I had to. "I guess my injury has a lot of inflammation, a lot of fluid in there. That's what was really causing the problem. I should be OK especially with the injection yesterday. I should be fine." jonathan.feigen@chron.com
This is funny.. just saw this article on Yahoo, but it is written in past tense.. odd huh? http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...LYF?slug=ap-rockets-mcgrady&prov=ap&type=lgns McGrady skips Rockets game to rest sore shoulder; Alston returns HOUSTON (AP)—Houston Rockets guard Tracy McGrady sat out Wednesday’s game against Seattle to rest his sore left shoulder. McGrady sprained his shoulder late in Houston’s 108-100 win over Sacramento on March 24. He’s played in all six games since, but had recently started wearing a protective wrap. McGrady scored 13 points with nine assists on Sunday, as the Rockets clinched a playoff berth by beating the Los Angeles Clippers. McGrady took a painkilling injection on Tuesday and skipped Wednesday’s shootaround. Coach Rick Adelman wasn’t sure if McGrady would play against Phoenix on Friday. “I have no idea,” Adelman said. “It’s a day-to-day thing. Past tonight, I don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see tomorrow.” While McGrady sat out, point guard Rafer Alston returned Wednesday after missing three games with a strained left hamstring. The Rockets won the three games Alston missed, with Bobby Jackson starting and rookie Aaron Brooks coming off the bench. The Rockets have five games remaining in the regular season and can still mathematically earn the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference playoffs.
Now they've added a final score for tonight's game (in the link)! 85 - 90 <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-TTglhq6aA0&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-TTglhq6aA0&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
