The Artest comparison was just a lucky guess lol. I'm glad to know you've repented. So, are you saying that T-Mac is soft because everyone else says it? What example can you give me to support your assertion? I think your statement "you never hear people say "Michael Jordan is not soft"" is a little off kilter. I think you meant to say "you never hear people say "Michael Jordan is soft"." Now, someone like Ralph Sampson, he was soft. Joe Barry Carrol, he was soft. I don't think t-mac is soft, in my opinion.
This is the best possible time for McGrady to sit out... of course, the best possible thing would be for him not to sit out, but we should be more than capable of beating the Sonics at home with or without McGrady.
Well, for Rookie of the Year debates, this is the perfect game to see what Scola does carrying a team vs. what Durant does carrying a team.
I meant to say you don't hear people say "Michael is not soft", because no one would have to defend against the idea that Michael is soft. People just look at you crazy and smirk if you say Michael is soft. However, the fact that if I assert Tmac is soft and can raise a serious reaction to it, it means there is something about tmac's toughness that is up for debate.
Durant has been in a shooting slump the past few games except for that Denver game (honestly who slumps vs. that defense though ). Hopefully that continues tonight and we see another 4 point brick fest from him, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has a decent night. Rockets still win 98-83.
Man, Durant needs to bulk up. He should not be playing the 2, but he has to because he's skinnier than Nicole Richie.
Ralph was NOT soft by any stretch and played hurt so often it screwed up his knees and his career. DD
We're going to make the playoffs anyways, I would rather not see T-Mac get injured for a good spot in the playoffs. His shoulder really needed some work. And even if we did get a playoff spot, it doesn't mean we're going to be invincible. (I.E Last year vs Utah. We even had homecourt.)
I think it's good T-Mac is sitting out 1) this is a game they should win without him 2) this is a good game to work on team chemistry without T-Mac in the lineup (you know the thing that sparked our 22 game win streak) vs. a bad team 3) T-Mac needs to be healthy for the playoffs! I expect to see him sit vs. the Sonics and the Clippers.
Ever since he went down hard in Boston, he was never the same player, imo. I guess I should have clarified the post-fall Sampson.
Scola sets a pick and usually rolls to the basket and rafer might hit him 1 out of 10 times. If we had a good point guard he would avg 18-20.
I swear, I was just telling one of my co-workers the other day how it seems like Rafer never wants to pass to Scola, even when he's wide open. I've seen it multiple times.
I'd look at you crazy this year. Mac has played through injuries the entire season, and hasn't missed that many games. He's really played a big part of the team's success this year, and I'm not even talking about his actual play on the court. Just his demeanor, cheering his teammates on, getting pumped when he does well, getting on himself when he sucks, congratulating his team on a good effort even after a loss, playing through obvious pain, etc. I mean let me try and get this right. 10-15 games into THIS season, he was playign MVP calibur ball. He got his elbow ran into. Still played. Soon, he hurt his knee. Still played until it was decided he should just rest it, since he reaggrevated it...was it twice trying to play hurt. Guess that means soft. Then he comes back after missing a few games and HELPS lead the team to an unbelievable run. Oh, yeah, he's had his wrist wrapped up the whole time, pumping his shoulder full of painkillers, oh ya, and he played with the flu. Want to call him selfish and stuff while we are at it? Soft and selfish "me-mac?" The guy is talented, shares the ball, creates, scores, plays defense (even more recently), and on top of all that, seems to be a genuinely nice human being.
