if we lose to seattle, tmac better kill himself. this is a must win while we don't have much hope against phx anyway. bad strategy.

yeah because you'd rather have T-mac with a bad shoulder in the playoffs.....

If Tmac had to rest that shoulder he should have just done it against SA or SAC last week.....or waited until PHO on friday.......unless of course RA actually wants to fall back to the 6th spot to avoid UTAH....

A good game for T-mac to rest. Our rooks/bench always turns out decent performances against Seattle. Battier will dominate Durant anyways, so our sucky offense should not be a concern. :p

the way shane and chuck have defended durant this year, i'm not afraid of losing this game at all.

i guess luther starts and brook's minutes drop a bit.

Have we ever played a game without both T-mac and Yao this season?

I don't think so. We did destroy an exhausted Wizards team in the first post-Yao game with T-Mac hardly doing a thing, so hopefully the same will happen against what has to be a tired Seattle bunch.

Or no McGrady to scowl at him for being out out of position or fumbling a ball or whatever...

Scola has had big scoring games without McGrady. I think he'll relish the role being a go to guy. His leadership abilities seem to shine when he's called upon to do it.

If Mcgrady's hurt enough to need a cortisone shot it doesnt matter who the opponent is, let him heal up for the playoffs and big opponents. Smart move by the Rockets. Hell this is the game to give Battier and Deke a breather too

better to rest it now than not being 110% in the playoffs!

we can afford to lose this one

can't afford that in the playoffs

    good moove by the organisation!

still, i can't believe what i'm reading. Nobody is bashing mcgrady in this thread...where amazing happens

How do you know I wouldn't say that to his face? I'm not a wimp by any means, and for the record, yes I would say that to his face. I ain't a skeered!

And the difference being at least pchan can see what I'm saying, whereas he's basically talking smack behind t-mac's back.

I'm just so tired of all of the t-mac bashing. He's pretty much this Rocket's team figurehead now, as well as it's leader, so if you don't like him, go root for Kobe or LeBron or whomever.

I personally think Houston's lucky to have a player of his skill level and character. Of course, people like pchan would probably rather have some nutcase like Artest on our team.

Well let's be honest a one game rest is not magically going to heal his shoulder. We will have T-mac with a bad shoulder for the playoffs. All will be fine IF we win this game. If not well, we'll have to sort thru countless Tracy bashing threads.

I'm pleasantly surprised so far by this thread, 3 pages and only minor bashing. Bill and Matt were saying during the game the other night, that TMac was getting pain shots in order to play. We definately want him healthy for the playoffs, and if that means he takes a day off now that works for me.

Rest up and get healthy TMac, we will need you Friday. I have a vested interest in Friday, since I have tickets to the game.

I doubt it was his decision.

I've noticed alot of teams are doing this, they sit their stars further out and play them against the good teams because this is going to be a tough playoffs. I know the suns sat shaq against the Grizzlies but he's expected to play tonight.

This is actually a great time to sit him because the last time he played was Sunday, so essentially he will be off Sunday night until Friday night. That's a nice little rest.

Besides if we can't beat them without tmac then we have more important things to worry about than seedings.

Also Cortisone shots hurt for a day or so, as they dig the needle around to get the anti swelling medication into the proper areas......so the place of the shot actually gets bruised....giving him a couple more days to heal is only the right thing to do.

What I meant is that this is his best chance to get an extended rest for that shoulder. Win or lose having tracy get this rest is still more important for the post season.

As for the bashing threads, those will continue to pop up ad nausem regardless of what happens, just the way it goes...

Do you really type 'DD' after everything you type or is it somehow part of your sig?

Did you just pull Artest name out from you know where, or you actually remember I once supported trading Tmac for Artest? For that, I have since repented. I was temporarily blinded by the one quarter in which Artest just stick it to the whole rockets team and our team could not respond. I won't support trading tmac for artest anymore.

I do like Kobe even though I don't root for the Lakers. He is a spectacular basketball player.

As far as calling tmac soft, I just wanted to be the first one in this thread to say it. Whether tmac really is soft or not, he has appeared to be soft. So I don't see the problem of what I've said. If this perception does not exist and is not popular, there is no need for people to say "Tmac is not soft". For example, you never hear people say "Michael Jordan is not soft".

I am just repeating something that even the most hardcore rocket fans might have at one point or another feel about Tmac.

I had one in the shoulder a while back, and there is also a danger that you overstrain the area because you don't feel the pain. Pain is nature's way of warning you that something is wrong. I was told not to do anything for a week, and went out and played badmiton after 2 days. Bad idea.
