Rafer stat line - 55 points ( 20/30 FG, [10/10 3 pt.]) , 10 assists, 3 steals, and a blocked Steve Nash shot for the win.
So...if this team somehow ekes out a win tonight, does that mean we're better off without McGrady or Yao?
LOL, that's really cool.. u just turned 21? what a nice coincidence. right when u needed to drink the most, u turn 21... LOL..
It's not the most admirable strategy....sit TMac out against teams we have little chance against and let him play against teams where we do have a chance...but I can't say it's not the BEST strategy given our situation.
since we are pretty sure that w/ Tmac and Yao we cannot beat the SUns Maybe doing the exact opposite will render us a victory Everyone goes out and busts thier ass...JVG plays rooks and they show that they can ball...Phoenix underestimates us and falls into a big hole early on.
Is Kirk Snyder healthy enough to play? I hope he doesn't break his hand again. I heard he has trouble catching the ball - how is he going to be able to compete? Bonzi Wells isn't 100% but we could use his help anyways.
at least with t-mac we would've lost anyway. I see it as a precautionary measure, if this game was winnable he'd be playing.
Yeah, I don't really need to say anything, this is just so sad. We have a guy with a bad back, and a coach who plays him like he is completely healthy. Bad recipe...bad. DD
Yea... and the only solution to that is to tell T-mac to "hold it back... don't go all out," while JVG plays him 25 minutes a game... and plays Novak/V-span in his place? The recipe will be the same... we'll lose a ton of games. T-mac's back is either okay, or not okay... but you can't tell him to turn it off when he's actually playing. He's no good to us if he's out there scoring 18 ppg. If T-mac can't play 40 productive minutes a game without hurting his back... we're screwed... (Btw... wasn't it u that said all of T-mac's problems are mental? Maybe mentally holding it back is better for him... and not scoring 45 points in basically 3 quarters).
im pretty sure we would lose to the suns with tmac AND yao healthy, so im not too disappointed that he's out.
Plus it seems to me that it really isn't gonna matter how many minutes he plays....he tweaked his back on a dunk. That could have happened five minutes in or at the end of a game. So protecting him by lowering his minutes probably won't spare him from another flare up anyways. If this is nothing major, then resting him on the second night of a back to back against a better team in the regular season is a smart move.
THANK YOU !!! Let him play hard when he is on the court.....but for crying out loud don't overuse him during the regular season. This is EXACTLY what I have been talking about.....now because of this we are going to have to play the bench...and WHOA...guess what? They have no experience. BRILLIANT !! DD
What, and then all of a sudden his back is healed when we need him to play big-time minutes in the playoffs? We're up 3 with 4 minutes left... but T-mac shouldn't play more than 40 minutes so rest him? I'm not asking him to play 40 minutes every single game... but against an elite team in a game we're trying to win, where NOBODY else can fill it up... he's gonna have to be out there or we're screwed either way. (especially since the playoffs are still not a given). Playing NBA basketball is bad for his back... the way he plays (when he plays superstar calibur ball) makes it worse. If the muscles are going to tighten up as randomly as they have over the last 2 years, playing him only 35 minutes a game doesn't strengthen it. In fact, the only cure he has is to not play at all. An off-season of rest didn't cure it, electro-shock treatments didn't cure it... he's got a sensitive back.
