I would rather Luther Head play. He's less detrimental. Will hit shots more consistently. And won't force anything. Oh, and he's younger and still has some upside. Head > Francis
It's hard to let go. Some of us still remembered the wide-eyed kid that challenged VC for the dunk contest, our first all star since the big 3, and the guy helped Rox win 45 games and missed the playoffs by one game with a pitiful supporting cast. However, I still agree that Francis doesn't fit THIS team. He should've signed else where. He can opt out next year and we'll see what happens.
When Steve recently became available, several GMs & coaches had nice things to say about him. But no one made a move. Except Houston. wab
After seeing stevie this whole preseason i'd have to go with everyone else -- his conditioning really isn't up to par and he looks really out of shape. he doesn't move nearly as quick in his prime years and his poor attitude, decision making, fit with the team, large turnover rate, and dominance of the ball really make him an offensive and defensive liability.
I'd say its more like "too many" than "some of us." Most people assumed he'd be handed the starting PG position, when now it looks like he'll struggle just to get on the court. He isn't a good fit on our team (or most other teams at this point to be honest). I sure hope I'm wrong.. but I think most people need to realize we are in 2007 and we don't need him dribbling the ball through the floor and pouting when he doesn't get PT.
