Give James another half a second to hit that shot and it's all over the news. It didn't count. People generally don't make a big deal out of shots that clearly didn't count.
First, Curry's 62 footer counted. It also came during a stretch where the Grizz had cut the lead to five and had the ball for the final shot of the 3rd period. Instead of getting the final shot, they turned it over and Curry sank the 3/4 court shot. That shot was an absolute back breaker. You could see defeat in the crowd at that moment. The Warriors hit the first shot of the 4th (if I remember correctly), and it was pretty much over from there. That was a ridiculous shot that deserved a lot of attention. Harden's shot was really fun to watch, but that's about it. Had it counted, we'd be seeing that replay everywhere.
This pretty much covers it. Every one is acting like that mother that thinks her baby is special and deserves extra attention. 1.) It isn't about the state of California, it's about the success of that particular team this season and it's players have gained a popular reputation for themselves. In football, Seattle suddenly gets really good and we see more coverage on them but Seattle isn't necessarily a huge market by any means. 2.) Shot didn't count. It literally was worth 0 points. A boring lay up is worth more. Why talk about it? I agree that it was a cool shot. I screamed so freaking loud when it went in. I also agree that Curry would have received coverage on the shot because it's Curry and the sports channels have to cater to the people who care about that player. Oh well. If Curry did make that shot we would hear about it once or twice. Not enough to be upset when it's our player losing out
The coolest part was Hardens block first. The was 2 second left and Harden got a block and an 80 foot heave and it didn't count by about .5 seconds. Definitely fun to watch
