Yeah Ron has that tendency to fall in love with himself when his shot falls once or twice early. Fortunately tonight it kept falling..

I might like to see us try Barry-Wafer-Artest-Scola-Yao in late game situations. Barry and Scola can shoot, Rafer and Artest can create... Yao is Yao.

I'm not giving up on AB; but after tonight's meltdown it's only wise to try something else while you still have time to tinker.

Are you serious? Majority NBA players can get their own shots, that's why you hear non-star players have big game all the time, WHEN given the opportunity. The tough part is doing it when defense makes the adjustment, e.g., send help, switch up, etc, and doing it consistently.

All five of our starters can beat their defender and score if just play 1on1, but only Yao can make the good decision MOST OF THE TIME when the help defense come. To win consistently, you need a good wing/back-court player, who can make the right decision when the defensive help comes, but the Rockets doesn't have it now.

I remember the past couple years or so Tracy was criticized for creating and hitting the open man, trusting his teammates, instead of taking the shot himself. I remember reading chron articles about it.

Anyone remember the Novak three to beat Artest's kings? Who created that play? That's off the top of my head. There are plenty more examples if anyone wants to dig through old game tapes. Hate breeds revisionist history I guess.

But really, that's neither here no there. A healthy T-Mac is not walking through that door, probably never again. Time to wait however many years/decades it takes to find a stud through the draft, or somehow get lucky and score another Francis/Mobley/Cato for McGrady type trade, or maybe we get lucky like Boston did in having everything fall their way to get Allen then KG, or hold up another franchise at gunpoint like the Lakers did to Memphis, or...

If they realized that, they'd pass more to Yao. Yao can create open looks for them.

all we need is people to hit their shots. Where is the low post game of ron artest? I cant remember the last time rox run a play to get ron down low, where he can do his power moves.

And i'm surprise that rox did not post scola up. No one on that bulls team can guard him 1-on-1. Especially when they front and double yao at every trip. Post someone on the weak side.

And I am also surprised Coach Adelman had not a clue to deal with the meltdown. If Yao can't get the ball, play small and tough defense to maintain the lead. To protect 17 points lead in the last 5 minutes should not be a very difficult job.

When wafer makes shots theres nothing you can say about him, but when his shots aren't falling, his bball iq is at most equal to ABs in term of playing team basketball

they should post up artest late in games because he is stronger and bigger than most sf in this league with yao and scola ready to crash the boards leaving AB and battier outside ready for a 3 if needed. Going to yao is too ineffective and they should play like the double OT win over UTAH every night in the 4th quater when the score is tight

Using PnR to create your own shot does not mean you can create ur own shot. Anybody can have an open shot with pick n roll...no talent is needed because your teammate basically screen off your man to allow you have an open look...no talent require on your part.

I'd say no one can attack the basket in the 4th.

T-Mac yes but he is out for the season. Aaron Brooks can create his own shot also but he just turns the ball over too much. This thread kind of sounds like a bash Artest trade. It also reminded me of Steve Francis.
