You aren't an American. You never served. You never held combat arms for the country. See I can draw arbitrary lines of who's American and who isn't.
Because nothing screams, "Freedom!" like FORCING people to play the national anthem or salute the flag.
At my daughter's gymnastics meets, they play the song before competition begins. But, they don't even use a singer. They just hit play on a recording of the music and people are supposed to stand when organizers can't be bothered to put a human being in front to lead the flag worship. I don't want it in sports or at school. I'd honestly be happy to never hear the song again. But, if we are to have an anthem, there should at least be some protocols for treating it right and not disrespecting it with sloppy performances. There's a whole complicated system about how to respect the flag, when to raise it or lower it, how to fold it, how to carry it, how to dispose of it when it's frayed. It should be likewise with the anthem.
I was just thinking it’s ironic that Texas Republicans are complaining about the Mavs not playing the National Anthem at the same time they are floating secession
but you’re a Trump supporter who wanted an election to get overturn...you’re also a racist it’s trash like u that needs to leave this country ASAP
Professional sports franchises very effectively reframed their radio broadcasting and advertising sales territories as quasi-municipal associations with specific cities. Separately an inordinate amount of the formative coaching, strategy and administration of professional sports was developed by armed forces veterans who were incorporating several aspects of their own military or wartime experience. That made it inevitable that they came to incorporate patriotic ceremonies in sports games, DoD bribes notwithstanding. Of course the massive overreaction to a backup quarterback using a practice resting pose to make an innocuous cultural statement has made this debate necessary.
I never understood why they play the national anthem at sporting events anyway but never cared that much either way. I guess it's a good way to give singers and other performers exposure so that's cool.
Doesn't seem appropriate but isn't the same as banning the anthem from an event and spitting on our time honored traditions. I think you and others have severe TDS and you should get some serious help. The dude is out of office and you still obsess over him.
Really? A large sporting event and other public venues are great places for people to unite. You know... unite? Unity? You know the thing? Expressing patriotic sentiment is a great activity and doing it together is a great way to unify. It's also a long-held tradition that is part of the fabric of American culture. Do we need it? No, we wouldn't die without it. But do we need to scrap it? Hell no. It's a very unpatriotic action what Cuban did.
How is Cuban disrespecting America by not playing the anthem before a majority of games when no fans were present? How is me pointing out an instance when Trump disrespected the anthem obsessing over him? I'm trying to determine your criteria for when people should and shouldn't leave the country.
Does that mean I'm disrespecting America if I don't sing the anthem before I go to the bathroom? I struggle to go to sleep thinking of these difficult problems.
Shut the **** up commie. I told you you aren't American because you never served combat arms. Do we need you to serve combat arms? No. But it definitely makes you communist if you don't. It's just an arbitrary sentiment I made up like you did with the anthem.
