Dampier who? If he's the best center in the west, are we talking soccer? I don't think its fair to compare Yao and Shaq and Ben or whoever else. The reality is that they each are completely different players with totally different mindsets and sets of tools, and they all do the best that they can with what they have. Shaq's presence on the court has been significant, but he's a the tail end of his career. How many rings does he have again? Yao's going to have a breakout year.
BTW, Dwight Howard played PF tonight not C, so perhaps all the "Yao should be compared to Dwight" posts are a bit off.
