If Yao has a game this bad this year people would be calling for his head. It's not even funny anymore that people are still claiming Shaq or whatever is better than Yao, seriously, for real, no more mention again.

Haha. I don't think posting that in a rockets forum is any use. We all know Yao's the best :) .

LOL, if Yao has a stat line like any one of the above, there will be at least ten 'Trade Yao when he still has value' threads the next day even after we have won the game. :)

The stat line for Ben Wallace doesn't really capture how well he played, though.

ben wallace's statline is always like that

Yao's main competition should be Dwight Howard..he's going to be a stud

If Yao had that stat line and someone posted that about him, they would be dubbed an extreme "YOF" and be called out for blindly worshipping him.

Come on! Is only first game of the 82 games!

Enough of this Yao is the best center in the league talks! Yao still has to prove it he is the BEST! Best center wont be stopped by fronting, double, triple teaming. Best Center has to be dominated the game night in and out and lead his team deep into playoffs! Yao still has to prove all this and he has his chance this season.

Until then , all these talks about who ie better than who is completely meaningless!

The point is that if Yao actually played as poorly in ANY game this year as all three did tonight, people would be stark raving mad and be calling for his head.

On the other hand is anyone really surprised by the performances of the othe three?

Yet STILL many people even members here seem convinced Yao is not yet the best center in the league. It is mind boggling really.

First of all nobody ever compared Yao to Ben Wallace. One is an offensive player, the other is a defensive player.

Second, Ben was dominant tonight. He took Shaq out of the game and he anchored the defense. He's never been known for scoring.

As far as Amare goes, it is ridicuous to compare, because the man is injured.

Yao is the prominent center in the league right now. But like Tracy said, that doesn't matter. What matters is whether he and Tmac can win. There's no question he's the most talented center. If Amare wins a championship, nobody will care if Yao is better. Being better is a good thing, unless you don't win.

I am going to remember your nickname. When Yao has a subpar game, I don't want to hear anything out of you. :)

i dont dislike shaq. but i do like hakeem. and just like his last days with stat lines like this and driving down his career averages. same thing will happen to shaq.

that way i get to hear less of shaq being a better player then hakeem when its not true.

    thanks

I couldn't care less about the comparisons. Yao's coming from a completely different mold from all of those guys, and as was previously implied, all of them are very different players in different situations.

I want to see about 24 and 11 from Yao this season and I'm good...and that's not reaching, either.
