So this settles the whole thing then yeah? No more games on TNT, inside the NBA continues on ESPN & ABC. That’s the perfect solution actually, if it means Reggie, SVG, Draymond are never hired again. It would be nice if NBC or Amazon gets Kevin Harlan, Brian Anderson & Grant Hill. Or ESPN for that matter.
I think they're only going to do Inside the NBA for select games so the lousy ABC/ESPN coverage will persist. Basically I think this just amounted to a deal where the cast and crew all get to technically stay with TNT in Atlanta. They probably are getting paid more than they are currently and they get to do a fraction of the games they do currently. It was a win for everyone basically. And ABC/ESPN was so desperate that they agreed to all of this. If you're going to pay everyone more money to stay with the employer they liked (in the same studio) and everyone gets to work fewer days, I can see why the TNT guys agreed to this.
I was happy to see Jalen Rose on TNT. I think he's been the most entertaining TV NBA analyst not on inside the NBA for some time. He's one of the few folks along with Candace Parker that I would watch on a show when Inside eventually ends. Somebody that gets basketball, can talk about it, but also seamlessly be entertaining without constant hot takes.
Glad someone can enjoy him, because I really cannot stand the guy. The forced dragged out way he talks, how he comes off as someone who thinks he’s fashionable and knowledgeable while often just saying the same old thing everyone says. He’s the ESPN version of Kenny.
A lot of guys on NBA TV, Scott in particular. They don’t have to make big statements for clicks, feel the need to push their ego or cater to a general “dumb” or ignorant audience. I feel a lot of those analysts are condescending and think the average person will just eat up their nonsense. And while it’s partially considered entertainment and how the network pushes for a show to be, I 100% believe guys like Barkley, Richard Jefferson, Kendrick and Shaq believe what they say more often than not.
Jalen rose is terrible Any new generation of a broadcast crew should be built around Candace Parker and Jeff Teague
Awful, but they are now on ESPN so all the trash can go there. Wish ESPN had employed Reggie too though.
Because NBC now has him and that is going to keep me from enjoying games on that channel. We only have Prime to save us now.
I'm confused. What is Turner even going to be broadcasting after this year?? I thought the NBA is gone to Disney, NBC, and Amazon? So him and Chuck are going to be staying at Turner to do what exactly??.... do podcasts that nobody listens to??
