These guys really have no concept of money. $15 million dollars for one years work is equivalent to 5 lifetimes earnings for the average American and with his education and knowledge if he wasn't in the league, I doubt he would be making even the average. These guys need to pull their heads out of their asses.

Jalen Duran and Tari Eason have the same bozo agent. I expect both to (deservedly) get lowballed big time.

There’s no more than $15M left out there for him. There are quite a few teams that could still offer that, but if the Rockets are offering anything more, he might as well sign it, because they will be matching anyway. The Rockets’ offer really should decrease to about $12M now and force him to find another team to offer more. Checkmate.

well I noted that there would be a team option for every season. He could have a player option the last year in case he wanted to try to secure another long-term contract.

Which teams can still offer the full MLE? And what is that amount again?

I feel like he’s going to sign something just for the job security but he’s still going to be bitter about it.

it may be time for him to go in a trade unfortunately.

when you have an injury history, sometimes starter, and 100 million is not the big bag.....

    $15M
    Looks like:
    CHA
    CLE
    DAL
    DET
    MIL
    POR
    SAS
    WAS

One of those teams probably finally will offer it once the cupboard is bare. The Rockets just need to operate as though it will cost at least that. If he hasn’t signed yet, it makes me think maybe the Rockets are offering less.

I hope it does not come to the QO but there is a legitimate path where this occurs. Hopefully compromising heads prevail. But it takes both sides.

If I'm his agent what I'm selling to him more than anything is the value of guaranteed years in the NBA to build his role player value than I would about overvaluing dollars and cents in this contract. Longevity for known established value and reputation has more value than short term bloated contracts that become more famous than the actual player they represent.

Length of time in the NBA also has post playing value as well in terms of name recognition that will lend opportunities for either being in the media, or other business ventures. Trevor Ariza made ALOT of money in the NBA especially over time. Be Ariza... For every Ariza there are like 25 Terrence Williams'. I want Tari to stick in the league, and with his age, injury history, and skill limitations I have some concerns he could be out of the league faster than some might think if he doesn't approach this next year, and contract with some wisdom.

Nonsense. Durant is overdue to miss most of a season.

If I was his agent, I would offer Rockets 3 year deal for 50 million with 3rd year a 10 million player option.

He gets fair value guaranteed while Durant is around and can play market unrestricted at age 27. If he keeps getting hurt the 3rd year PO is the retirement plan.

I would say a 1 and 1 deal but rockets FO has no incentive to do it. Delaying his free agency 1 year might be enough to compromise.

Yeah given the cap, and other league variables I see the Quentin Grimes contract is probably the most likely one teams will be offering that the Rockets can match. Or basically what the Rockets gave DFS last summer which would be even harder to swallow knowing that the Rockets were offering nearly 100Mil last summer. Stone has to be counting his blessings that one didn't work out.

Hot take here, but I actually think Sengun's contract extension won't age well at all. Hope to be wrong there, but I know it looks good given how on paper that he's a younger 2-time all-star, and given his productively, but I just feel like the league is going to sort of figure him out like they did Enes Kanter, and others. If the Sengun-shine rubs off, and if Stone would have signed Tari to that large deal, we'd be... um... very critical of Stone a year or two from now.... if we aren't already.

I don't know about that. They lose about 50-55% to federal and state (road games) income tax. The agent gets a cut. Then they have other staff often.

Figure they actually see about 35-40% of that money. Now you're at 5-6 million.

Still a lot, but most people with a college degree will pull in a couple million over 25-30 years.

Guessing he gets more than consensus on Clutchfans. Granted, I typically value defense more. The only thing keeping his value down in my mind is the injuries. I'm expecting a high AAV relative to CF expectations, but either team or non-guaranteed years to mitigate the injury risk.

He’s too injury prone and he thinks too highly of himself. He pouted all throughout the early part of the season. Bottom line is that he did himself no favors last year. I’d still like to have him back, but on an incentive laden contract that I doubt he would sign.

After what Jabari received...I'm good with 3 years $45m or 4 years $60m. Wouldn't surprise if he signs a short term deal and demands a trade.

Thank you brother. Yea someone will kick
Him the MLE and we will match. I love Tari but I would be exploring what sort of Sign and Trade opportunities to see if we could snag a better or more useful player. That being said. Still really like Tari and I believe he is a winning player.
