No one wants to tie up cap space for him or overpay. Tari's dream of a being a full-time starter is slowly fading.

The market is what it is… The Nets, Bulls, and Lakers filling out their rosters and using their cap space should tell Tati to take the deal on the table from the Rockets if it is > the MLTE because that is what teams have left to give him and the Rockets would match that.

What exactly is Tari's case for a payday? He had career lows in a lot of categories last season: FG%, efficiency, scoring rates, rebound rates, steal rates, and block rates. He hasn't improved on much of anything since his rookie year and still makes boneheaded mistakes. He also has an injury history across the past three seasons. He got the chance to be a full-time starter towards the end of the season and his performance was miserable. He's also 25 years old so his upside seems slim.

Grimes just got $15M/yr and people seem to think it was an overpay. He's the same age as Tari, played 75 games each of the last two seasons, and his career efficiency blows Tari's out of the water. At this point I can't even argue Tari deserves NT-MLE and I was a huge supporter of his in the past.

    from last offseason

There was mutual interest between Houston and Tari Eason, but both sides were unable to agree to an extension. According to Brian Windhorst, Tari was offered an extension and he said it was “A strong offer. It was an excess of $100 million, but I don’t know how much of that would have been guaranteed.”

would be surprised if he gets $100 million now

he should’ve learned from the rest…Jalen, Sengun, and Jabari all chose not to bet on themselves and take whatever the Rockets offered

you don’t increase your value the more you play for the Rockets

so I understanding the only organization that has any Space available is Memphis, and that is about $3 million.

a few of these players have gone for very, reasonable numbers. Grimes, Smart to be honest may end up being an example. There are a few others.

sure what Ethan is expecting to get at this point, but I am pretty sure that him and Mom cost themselves a lot of money last summer.

His shrieking mom probably convinced him to risk it and chase the big bag.

I'm not surprised teams are hesitant to throw a ton of guaranteed money at someone as injury prone as Tari Eason

Offer him a 5 year 88 million dollar contract structured as the following.

26/27-20 million (must be play 65 games)

The other four seasons pay at 17 million. Team options all the way through and give him a player option on the last year of the deal.

Who knew sulking and being an absolute sh*t teammate for an entire season was detrimental to contract negotiations. On top of being unable to stay on the floor.

Momma and baby boy Eason's combined IQ might struggle to reach 50.

$100 million was the big bag regardless of the stipulations.

    Aint that the truth?

I think Tari's reps convince him to take a 4 year deal similar to what Quentin Grimes just got just for the sake of NBA job security because honestly if he has another season or two like last season, shows he has peaked, and hits the NBA free agency market in 2 years, he'll likely be a vet min type of player or out of the league.

4 years 60 million seems like the number both sides SHOULD likely agree to.

Tari, and his agent have to understand this Rockets front office and coaching staff is willing to let him walk if he takes his QO and takes an unwise bet on himself. I really like Tari, and have always been a fan, but I think this past season sort of concluded who he's likely to be the rest of his career. He should take the Grimes type of contract that at least secures himself 4 years in the league, and enough money to be foundational wealth for the rest of his life.

We'll see what he does, but wouldn't surprise me either way. Just don't know how logical of a business person he is, and how much he listens to his agent.

I think there are maybe 2 teams with cap space, Brooklyn and maybe LA Clippers. May take awhile for him to sign an offer sheet

No, I don't think I want a 5-year deal with Tari. I'd rather do three years.
