Man, all of this just sounds so familiar! Last year, the Rockets won many games when Yao was out, we heard the argument that the team would be better without Yao. Now, we won two games without TMac, and he is expandable? You guys are really pathetic!

This team has REASON to not feel they need McGrady. The team has a NEW offensive philosophy they need to focus on, and it gives players full reason to focus taking care of their OWN jobs and roles.

I don't see TMac capable being a good leader. I am really satisfy with the way this team played without him. Even when he can play, we can't rely on him too much.....TMac is NEVER_PASS_FIRST_ROUND disease.

Last year Rockets won without Yao Ming and kept the season alive, I hope they can do the same without T-Mac this time. Can we be on to something?
    I hope

They were wrong about Yao, but are they wrong about T-mac?

This year T-Mac missed 5 game, Rox is 2-3. He played 25 games 13-12. Remember he is the number one guy on the team and takes the highest salary. By investing 20 m, the team should expect improvement.

I think it boils down to moving the ball around the court until you get an open shot. If that's early in the shot clock, pull the trigger. The impressive thing about the Rockets' offense in the last two games is that when that open look didn't come after 10-12 seconds the Rockets were patient, didn't rush a bad shot, and kept working the ball looking for that scoring opportunity.

As for giving the superstars wiggle room, absolutely. It's obviously a good thing if Yao splits the double team once in a while and shoots anyway. When you have a guy like T-Mac who is tall for his position and can elevate over a defender to make his jump shot then exploiting that mismatch is a good idea.

But the flip side of being a superstar is involving the rest of the team. Yeah, T-Mac should have some wiggle room. But he's got to play within the system for a good chunk of time too and involve the rest of the team and get them their touches. When T-Mac gets back we still want four or five guys scoring in double figures. That's absolutely critical for this coach and this offense. I just don't see this team winning without that balanced scoring.

Rocket River, please check whether my understanding of your statement is right or not really.

Correct me if I m wrong.

No Mac-No Problem: my interpretation is that we can defeat Memphis and Raptors without T-mac. We are definitely playing better in the both offense and defense end. But you dont mean that we are good enough to put T-mac on the bench?

IMO, We are not willing to play with 20 million dollars on the table without using them, are we?

Although I do not like him, I still believe that he is a great scorer. I reckon that he is a good penetrator and assist maker. We lost really badly in the early season. After a 6-1 streak, we suddenly took off our coat and let any one else in the league to whip us brutally. That feels s*ck. Then we start to question Rick, T-mac and Yao. We do have problems. We just have got enough time to fix it all.

Turnaround is brought by the game against Denver IMO. We are able to get the ball moving smoothly and effectively. We are trying to feed the ball to Yao before he got doubled or fronted and we are able to make those open shots when Yao got doubled. Bonzi's penetration to the basket, Brook's speed, and Scolar's middle-ranged shots all impressed me a lot. Are we still able to defeat when elite teams come to us? Maybe we can. But it is just 'maybe'.

Condtionally with a healthy and team-oriented T-mac who is able to adapt to Rick's system, we will be taking a better chance to defeat the elite teams in the league, arent we?

Peace :p I hope we are able to beat the Warriors tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The TEAM is playing better
I won't say we *ARE* better
but the team seems to play better
All the other players seems to have more Confidence
    that is a good thing.

If T-Mac comes back and fits. . .good
If not .. . move him
