I am, in no way, claiming Toronto to be a defensively adept team. In fact, they are poor overall. So, am I to believe this defensively inept team have us fits in the interior by blocking and altering shots? Secondly, how good would that kind of paint presence look integrated with our current team philosophy?
Thank you for the detailed and informative response. It seems some want to downplay and ignore the impact of blocking shots and interior intimidation merely because we currently do not possess it. It is my personal and observational experience though that when the paint is shut down the way it was vs TOR, it almost assuredly is a victory for the paint paintecting team. I challenge those that did see the game to explain how our offense was NOT altered by the Toronto block party.
It had an impact. Is your opinion that we should replace Andersen with a shotblocker, or someone else?
Don't get too far up or down. This was foreseeable and will continue until Daryl addresses our need for some Bruise Brothers down low (offseason). For now, enjoy the offensive (double entendre) spectacle.
scola will be traded for amare this offseason, he was nearly traded at the deadline for Amare long with battier
Agreed totally. Especially about Andersen. I like him and i think he does have an upside as a back up to yao but he needs to cut the three point shooting. Its not that hes a bad shooter but with our team jam packed with people who love to get 3 point shot happy i want Andersen to get low and at least try to get rebounds
