Time and Team chemistry will help YAO become a force. Once he is used correctly his rebounding will go up. Why is it that he is the only one on the team ever setting picks? Thus taking him away from the basket. Just wait 'til that athletic PF comes and you will see YAO's numbers go up dramatically.

well, for one, his body is much wider and he is much more solid than anyone else which makes his picks much more effective. if you are going to set a pick, you want a wall, not a pole.

two, when setting a pick, you are trying to free the player and give him a chance to either shoot or drive. bringing yao and his man out frees up about 600 lbs of man from the paint.

three, its a pick and role most of the time. sometimes when yao sets the pick, he rolls towards the goal after because it is usually his man who has to switch on the defense. so it lets him kinda slip in there and make his man aware of him also. picking also creates mismatches because it makes defenders have to switch. just a little play that gives the defense a better look.

once that athletic pf comes, we have to hope that yao doesnt become satisfied with letting him take over and take himself out of the game more.
