Uh oh - Trump's fault again... Portland is responsible for its own policing. Btw, Portland and Washington are Democrat dominated.
everyone knows this @Wattafan character is full of sh*t and a useless troll...don’t take him seriously his only purpose here is to be a right wing contrarian, but he’s very bad at it...step your game up troll or get lost
Some news from local news: Oregon Public Broadcasting: https://www.opb.org/news/article/federal-law-enforcement-unmarked-vehicles-portland-protesters/ Which includes an account of a protester who was arrested and then released. He may be prone to exxagerate seeing as he is a protester, so take with a grain of salt. Oregon Live: https://www.oregonlive.com/portland...wing-attention-from-trump-administration.html What I think is a bit ironic is that Portland has been doing protests, apparently, for 50 straight days now and I didn't know. I knew about Seattle, though it was fading from view after they closed the CHAZ. Though I suppose Trump wants to keep feeding the protests and getting them on the news, so he has something to run against for president. He thinks voters in Michigan will be frightened by protesters in Portland. And I don't know that he's wrong.
What? Neither state is responsible for Federal police. That is entirely a result of the executive branch headed by Trump. The idea of unidentified secret federal police marching around picking up citizens should be a problem for all of us.
Absolutely, and I'm not excusing the practice in any way. In fact, I might send Senator Ted an email asking for some legislation to require insignia and name badges for all federal LEO on duty. Body cams too, but they probably won't go for that.
I read the article and this still doesn't seem to add up. It seems odd that they would detain someone and read them their Miranda rights but not tell them what they are charged with? Also as noted what is authorization for Federal authorities to act this way? Not saying this isn't exactly what is reported but it all seems very fishy.
Reminds me of my time in Korea. For one base exercise, I was tasked to walk around the base to see where I could end up and how long it would take before I got picked up. Bad thing was that I walked for 5 hours (in July) without wearing my chem gear when we were supposed to be...made it through a ton of checkpoints as well. Anyway, when I finally got caught (I actually thanked the CMSgt that caught me because I was tired and burning up by that point) they led me to a bunker where I had to kneel down and face the wall. They then blindfolded and handcuffed me, and led me to a hummer where I kicked the brake release which caused the vehicle to start moving and almost run over my feet. They took the blindfold off since it was an exercise, but they left the handcuffs on...I got to ride to the "holding area:" which was just a field off in the woods where I got to sit handcuffed until the investigators could come talk to me. Once they talked to me and got the update, they took the handcuffs off and let me walk back to work (in gear this time). When you posted the story from the protester...that reminded me of that incident because that's standard operating procedure for military cops in that kind of situation.
In the United States, the state police is a police body unique to each U.S. state, having statewide authority to conduct law enforcement activities and criminal investigations. That better?
I'm not sure who's responsibility it is to protect the federal courthouse or other federal buildings. I assume the Fed's but I may be wrong. What I'd hear on the radio this morning is the protests are peaceful during the day and then at night a different group of agitators come in and attack the courthouse.
The view from inside Portland which has been besieged by violent mobs for 47+ days- Check the replies. There are hundreds of tweets just like this.
THAT IS BULLSHIT, that guy needs to SUE the government for EVERYTHING it is worth......that is insane - at some point people are going to arm themselves and just shoot those guys in camo because they could be anyone - that is kidnapping - if I were on a jury and someone went Rambo on the guys in the military garb, I would NEVER convict them. I hope everyone in that protest starts dressing in Camo! DD
Clearly, if trump has his way, America would be Erdogan's Turkey, with trump playing his fantasy role as "strongman." Anyone who supports this and defends it is a fascist and is against the Constitution. Saying it is outrageous doesn't begin to describe how wrong this is. Making excuses for it is being complicit. I'll say that it's my opinion, but it isn't an opinion at all. It's the truth. Of course, someone who supports or defends this could be so unbelievably stupid, so completely clueless that it would beggar the imagination. There's a remote possibility of that, I suppose.
I have a a government insider that told me they are grabbing Antifa off the streets to put them in secluded rooms and conducting strange experiments on these people until they crack...be afraid. Be very afraid !
