I really hope the Raiders acquire a QB before the draft (Carr!) and they take Calvin Johnson to screw the Bucs.
Actually, Gary Kubiak was trying QUITE hard to get either Plummer or Garcia. So it IS Texans-related.
Don't mind him ... Swoly goes from zero to neurotic in 2.1 seconds. Take your meds, Swoly it'll be all good.
DUDES. Let it go. Rumors about someone coming to our team and the coach merely mentioning his name is not worth another thread. LET IT GO. He once mentioned ice cream. Should we start a poll about our favorite flavors in this forum...? Gosh, I love having fun with you all about how much more you know than Kubs...
The Texan's probably need to look at backup QBs who are looking to prove something. If you are an established QB, why in the world would you ever come to the Texans? Right now there are just too many unknowns on the team. DD
There o-line has talent they need to stay healthy and play together. I like RT-Winston RG-Weary C-McKinney LG-pitts LT-Spencer/Salahm (we really need either Spencer to be back healthy or a new LT) reserves-we need depth Hodgkin-not sure of, Flanigan-how much does he have left?
Ric, if the unit has either a 100% Spencer at LT or someone who is a average to above average LT and they play together more than 2 games without someone getting hurt than yes I think the starting unit is decent. I also think they need to use two more picks on o-line at some point in this draft becasue we need solid depth. More importantly players need to play "their position" not move around. Draft Landry number 1, try to get an extra pick in the 3rd and take two ol men and a qb to develop. Day 2, try to find a specialist (pass rusher round 4) 5-7, take skill players with speed ie. WR's and DB's
I got this wrong, too, and you called me on it earlier. Can you expound on it? For instance, although they here last year, they rarely played together thanks to injuries. How much of the five years of this franchise have those three guys actually been able to actually play together? And, more to tk's point, how much of *that* have they played their position and not been shuffled around? Also, isn't the guy we drafted last year is an important addition? If he can stay healthy and play all year, isn't it reasonable to assume the Texans can get even better ('better', of course, we know is relative)?
all three started at least 12 games in 2002. pitts, iirc, has started every single game in franchise history; mckinney started every game years 1-4. weary was the opening day starter last season. they've been "together." of course, upgrading LT would help, as would familiarity with the new scheme, etc. but i wouldn't label a single individual among the current OL as untouchable. and i certainly wouldn't hesitate to draft an OL prospect in rounds 1-4 because i had chester pitts, steve mckinney and/or fred weary.
It's crack that he's smoking. If you really want some, it's readily available and cheap. Just let me know which part of town you're in and I'll point you to a street corner.
