No fine for Yao yet, why?

  1. David Stern is too chicken to fine Yao. (Chinese market, nice guy image of Yao, etc)

Yao is the cash cow of the NBA, do you think Stern wants to lose money by looking like a bigger Dbag by fining his little money maker?

why would the NBA fine Yao? He didn't really call out an individual official nor attack the NBA.

He just said the opponents were getting away with flopping.

I have seen numerous interviews where a player mentioned the officiating but didn't name names or say anything beyond there were some bad calls. Stuff like that doesnt get ya fined.

you have to make a specific claim about officials to get fined.

and yao's too nice. he may say it, but he doesn't play like he means it.

Yao should threaten the NBA. He should say something like "If you don't start officiating me fairly in this league, then there is no point of me staying this league."

Let's see what David Sten does then.. he doesn't want to lose all that money in this starving economy.

The only bad thing about that would be Yao leaving the Rockets and possibly never coming back. lol :D

nobody cares enough about what he said. if they just ignore it then the issue will die on its own. stern prolly forgot yao even mentioned it.

Well, I think it's time for Yao to get a long missed technical.

Completely agreed. Get 2Ts next time the refs bite for a flopper guarding Yao. After the game, immediately convene a press conference calling out Mr. Stern and the refs. Yao should be more vocal to fight for his own benefits.

Like I said in the original Yao complaining thread, as Rockets fans, Rockets organization, and Yao himself, we all want him to be fined, so this can become a bigger issue. It will create traffic to the video, it will open up debates, and it will bring more attention to officiating against Yao. Why would Stern and the league want any of that?

I predicated that after that open complaint from Yao, he would be relatively fairly treated for a few games. If that trend continues, it's the best for everyone (well, maybe not teams playing against Rockets). But I really doubt it, after the thing cools down, those refs will be back to normal form. It will be up to Yao to bring the same complaint again. Yao needs to force their hands - either treat me better, or fine me to make the controversy bigger. Hopefully, we can play against Utah in playoffs and limit their flopping. Wouldn't that be beautiful?
