One question (I did not get to watch the game)...how was Nowitzki in the fourth...did he have a big role in the collapse or was it more other guys who folded (I notice Finley's numbers look pretty horrible)? Thanks...
He was pretty bad. You could see he was tight on a couple of jumpers (very short), and he almost lost the ball trying to take Shaq off the dribble one on one (got bailed out with a foul). Basically, every Mav not named Nick Van Exel had a similar role in the collapse. Nelson is a complete moron, btw. Van Exel's the only one who wanted the ball late, and made the three to put Dallas ahead with a minute to go. Yet, he never touches the ball again.
That game was crazy! I turned it off at the end of the 3rd, and turned it back on with a few minutes to go. I was shocked. That was insane!
WTF WAS THIS! I stopped watching after the third quarter ended. I come home and my brother tells me the Lakers won! Their were some horrible ass calls in the third quarter, but no way you can blame the refs for losing a thirty point lead. What a bunch of CHOKERS! Now LA will get some confidence off of this and run of like 20 wins in a row!
You sound like a King's or Spur's fan, but your name suggests you are a Rock's fan(Mobley right?). I am confused
I know the mavs played horribly in the 2nd half , but I think the refs calls changed the game alot. Some examples: That last spin move by kobe was clearly traveling. Watch it again if you dont believe me. Another play at the end by shaq where he got 2 and the foul was also traveling. Devean george 's crap was a foul. Im actually glad the mavs lost so the rockets dont fall too far behind, but man something needs to be done about the officiating, all those plays above were crucial.
Whenever the officiating was bad on both sides yet an individual chooses only to cite examples for one side, there credibility becomes suspect.
Stop calling this the all time NBA history comeback. The Jazz came back from 34 down at halftime against the Nugs in 96. It wasn't even the biggest 4th quarter comeback (28 points by the Bucks against Atlanta in 1977).
I agree that there were bad calls on both sides, and no i didnt want the mavs to win, I hate them, i dont really like neither one of the teams. BUT I am looking at the game not favoring any team, and you cannot say that in the crucial moments of the game the Lakers didnt get the calls. Look at that kobe spin move again. The thing is if it only happened this game itll be ok , but it happens EVERY big game for the lakers
DG getting called for a phantom foul on his partial block against Bradley was at a crucial point in the game as well, it could have very well stopped the Laker's momentum.
yeah, what im trying to say is that the officiating in the NBA right now is horrible. Not just tonight, everynight and games should not be determined by the refs.
Why do you think home court advantage is so crucial in the playoffs? Phil is demanding his players to be at least the 4th seed so they won't get screwed in a 5 game series.
yeah because the refs are gonna screw the lakers if they don't have home court. everyone who has played the lakers the last 3 seasons has been screwed by the refs, it ain't gonna change just because of homecourt. it sure as hell didn't help the kings in game 1 last year, where they got treated like b****es by the refs. lets face it, the lakers are gonna get every call imaginable when it counts, as much was shown in the 4th quarter of game 6 last year. to beat the lakers, you have to beat them and the zebras and it's not fair. as much as i would've hated quitten in the finals again, portland easily beats LA 3 years ago with equal officiating, and sactown would've won in 6 last year (although the officiating was far more equal than the portland series). as much as i hate the yankees, at least they earn it on the field (jeffrey maher notwithstanding), the lakers usually don't (15-1 2 years ago notwithstanding).
Not saying that LA is gonna win #4, but I think this game could be the start for turning their season around.
