according to the news... the shuttle was definately too high for any sort of terrorist activity... i realize the statement i made was dumb. so enought of that.
I remember where I was the day Challenger exploded. January 28, 1986. I was home from school, sick with the flu. This is so weird: Challenger accident January 28, 1986 Apollo launch pad accident January 29, 1967 Columbia accident February 1, 2003???????
They are saying that the debris could be contaminated with rocket fuel and it could sufficate you to death within 48hrs if you come on contact with it. Also at 207,000ft above ground is it even possible to parachute from that high? Do they have systems for breathing at that high? rockHEAD - no problem.
Shuttle was traveling at 12,500mph. FoxNews is saying at the altitude and speed it would be almost impossible to parachute and survive.

This is so sad. Has anyone mentioned sabotage? I know it is a reach but in this day and age nothing would shock me. Thoughts and prayers.
Apparently, NASA has possibly sent up one of their reconnaissance planes here from Houston up to Dallas area. I just took these pictures in my back yard: And no, this was not a commerical airplane.
I just got through talking to my parents in Jacksonville and they said they felt the explosion there between 8:05 and 8:15. My dad said it sounded like a sonic boom, then rumbled for about a minute after that. At first he thought somebody had run into their trailer because it shook so bad. He drove around town because it sounded like something exploded in town somewhere and there were police, ambulances, and fire trucks driving around also.
First Israel astronaut on board and the first eyewitness account on TV came from Palestine, Tx. talk about strange coincendences...
