Maybe we should trade Yao. He's not a team player, with his endorsement deal comign in the way of Coke n all. What kind of player deals this way with fans? Instead of workign out a deal with Coke so he can bring more fans to the Totyota Centre, he's out there busting his enormous eyebrows while playing to gain the honor of playing for the Chinese National Basketball team? It's proposterous, that's what it is! Anyway, cultural differences do control these things. I understand that different people have different tastes, and I understand that some people worship Eva Mendes while I can't stand the sight of her, but for the life of me, I can't figure out the scientific reason behind these things. I've been looking for the asnwers to these questions forever too.
Minute Maid Park has no Pepsi products. No surprise considering Coke owns Minute Maid. Pepsi has exclusive pouring rights to the University of Houston. It's just part of doing business.
You know, my brother works for Pepsi and he wouldn't be caught dead in a restaurant that has Coke pouring rights. If in fact he must go somewhere where they only have Coke, he takes a can of Pepsi with him. This has actually happened a few times where he entered a decent restaurant with a few friends, all of whom work for Pepsi, with cans of Pepsi.
It is interesting you brought this up. I remember Yao Ming sued Coke for a a dollar a few months back for "using" his image (albeit Coca Cola has a standing deal with the Chinese NT). Yaop is OFFICIALLY affiliated with PEPSI and now the Rockets and Toyota Center has followed suit. I will bet that Yao affiliation effected or affected this deal somehow some way. Tim and other Rockets are smart enough to understand that they are building the team around Yao on and off the field of play. I want to use this opportunity to welcome PEPSI to the Toyota Center because I am a "life long" Mountain Dew lover. I am tired of going to restaurant and realizing that Coke has the annoying "pouring rights". Way to go Les, Tim, George and course PEPSI.
You mean you haven't heard about the study that showed that those who prefer Coke have average nearly 20 points higher IQ than people who prefer Pepsi?
Yes, but being a southerner (especially, a Texan), you MUST have an affinity for Dr. Pepper and it will be front and center. In Texas, Dr. Pepper is like a state institution.
When you give Pepsi pouring rights you also get all their other crap like Mountain Mist instead of 7 UP and there is usually no Root Beer. Tim, Pepsi sucks, it's freaking Yankee Water! (and just doesn't mix with the Jack in my hidden flask)
Sane, that's one of the funniest things I've seen you write. "...he's out there busting his enormous eyebrows while playing to gain the honor of the Chinese National Basketball Team?" Man, I have this mental picture now of Yao flinging his "enormous eyebrows" left and right... with the pummeled opposing team's players flying through the air in abject terror!
Here in Oz coke is the main soft drink, apart from places that use the drink "gun" things (Coke syrup is too expensive to use), cinemas & McPuke excepted. To get market share back, Pepsi has been doing "taste test" all over the place. Most people actually prefer the taste of pepsi when compared to coke this way, but buy coke due to marketing etc. I hate Coke. A truely aweful drink. The only soft drink I buy regularly is Dr Pepper when I can find it (hard to get here). As to the "urban legend" part of coke, i had chipped a tooth in a game of bball. I went to the movies a few days later (tooth unrepaired) and ran out of drink (too much salt on the popcorn ). As a devote non-coke drinker, i had to have some of my friends drink (coke). Within 15 minutes of the horrid drink entering my mouth, my tooth FELL OUT, DISOLVED AWAY FROM THE INSIDE! I was left with just the stump bit along my top gum! Go Pepsi... not that i really drink either
20 higher IQ points? lol, that's interesting. So do I get smarter if I drink Coke, or is it that smart peolpe CHOOSE Coke? BTW, Pepsi does NOT represent Birtney anymore. However, you will be seeing Beyonce, Pink, and Ronaldinho. All recent Pepsi signings.
Good is not kind enough, and unfortunate is too kind. Hehe. Ronaldo doesn't look that great either, and people love to see him. Soccer's not about looks as much as the NBA I think. For some odd reason, all good NBA players have good looks, and it sometimes makes me wonder about all the people who say there's a conspiracy. In soccer however, there are tons of ugly players...Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Davids, Patrick Vieira, Heskey isn't the most fortunate looking player, Vieri.....
I wonder if it has anything to do with the broadcast style. Perhaps I'm not getting the most common broadcasts, but there aren't as many zoom-in shots on players' faces in soccer as there are in basketball - thus making their appearance less noticable. But then again, probably the most well-known player world-wide is known almost as much for his looks as his ability.
CRAP? We have Mt Dew the # 1 selling 20oz nationally in C&G stores. Aquafina, the #1 selling bottled water in the nation. Gatorade anyone? PepsiCo owns that as well and PBG distributes onpremise as well... No Rootbeer?? Ever heard of MUG rootbeer.....dah, and its Sierra Mist instead of 7Up. How about some Tropicana or Dole juices, maybe some LIPTON TEA with that too. Starbucks Frapp we handle as well but the SOBE Drinks are outstanding , but your probably not cool enough to have tried them....your too smart from drinking coke Maybe you should drink sprite and be a sex offender, just don't bring it in the Rockets new house
wow. I didn't know people were so loyal to soda brands. hill country fair kicks all ass. The rest are just posers.
Damn Roc Paint....noone gave you any recognition for a classic SNL reference? Belushi was a god.. as long as they have DP...its all good. btw, Crown and DP tastes pretty good...even though I have taken to drinking my Crown straight these days.
