No way I would imagine them trading Williams who is entering the prime of his career at a position like defensive back and plus is a bargin salary wise. Al Harris is going to be actived from the PUP list this week but is old and he is only a nickle back at this point. They Jets and Packers have the best two cornerback tandems in the league. Ted Thompson, the Packers GM, doesn't make short term deals. That why he is getting ripped in Green Bay right now for not trading for Marshawn Lynch.

The Browns may trade Shaun Rogers. I would love to bring him home. I don't know what it would take him. May be a 3rd or 4th round pick?

agree completely with this post. frankly, i remember many here on this board, and in blogs throughout the internet, scratching their head at that Dallas trade. Where people were okay with it, it was because it seemed like the Cowboys were that one extra big play receiver away from being a Superbowl contender.

Also agree on Cutler. Never thought as highly of him as some, but also agree that he is one hell of a talented QB that just can't get his brain on the same page as his body at all times...but even then, Cutler still has a higher QB rating so far this year than our own Matt Schaub...and that's with one of the worst offensive lines in the history of the game. Cutler's been sacked nearly as many times already as Carr was on pace for in his rookie year. Still, the Bears gave up too much, especially considering Orton was at lease a solid average QB in his own right...one who is having a very good year thus far, despite the Broncos sub-par record.

Picking up Aso is a no brainer. Picking up Haynesworth is a no brainer. I don't think Kubiak or Smith are going to be able to stick around with another 8-8, 9-7 season. They may, but you will then finally start to see real pushback from the fans - meaning pushback from the wallet, which will ultimately result in them being let-go.

Trading for help now might not work, and might jeopardize the future potential of this team...but not doing so caps your upside.

This one sentence sums it up perfectly. Right now, as is, this team is in a position it has NEVER been in before. First place, going into the bye week, with a 3-0 conference record. This offense is a Super Bowl offense right now. If we can add just a couple of pieces on defense to bring that unit back to just plain AVERAGE, I think you're going to see HUGE results in the remaining 10 games.

The main thing is there has to come a certain point in time where you stop stockpiling young assets, and start taking risks with the chips you have to offer. We are already the youngest team in the league, and it's VERY clear that we lack veteran leadership on the defensive side of the ball. Draft picks are not going to fix that problem now, OR in the future. This team is built to win RIGHT NOW, and they are poised to do so. 4-2 is fantastic, but it means nothing unless you can go 6-4 the rest of the way. It's up to the front office to give the team the pieces to do so.
