I remember in the 'would you trade nnamdi for andre' thread I said I would only do that trade, if the raiders threw in their first round pick for the next 10 years. And now he can be had for draft picks..you have to get it done.

Wow, I amazed that there is legitimate interest from the Texans.

This is getting my hopes up. Hopefully they are not shattered tomorrow.

It's the Raiders. They are liable to turn down any thing the Texans offer for any reason. They are not a team known for making decisions in the best interest of winning. Besides, the Raiders are "scoffing" at Schefter's report. From PFT:

WOW - and whether or not it happens, we've got whispers that Texans are talking both Asomugha AND Haynesworth.

Seriously, if those two moves happened, we'd take the division.

Take a chance, Bob. For once in your team's history....roll the dice. Stop worrying about the future and start thinking about THIS season.

I wouldn't have given up draft picks for anyone a couple of years ago. But now....we are so close to being a contender. To hell with what happens in 3 or 4 years.

Dare to be great RIGHT NOW.

Are there really "whispers" that we are interested beyond hypothetical "Texans make sense" kind of reports?

Wow, I can't believe there are even rumors the Texans are interested. I hope something is done.

Texans can't honestly believe they are close to being contenders with the defense they have now, they have to know a big time player like Aso can just make their defense...average...with the offense the Texans have all they need is a ******* average defense.

Also...maybe Aso can make the other guys better? Anyone notice how most of the Raiders CB are pretty decent players at least? Sort of like Andre and any WRs we get seem to just be...at the very least decent players. Also the LB position is like tihs for us with DeMeco.

I think there is a lot to be said for a true professional leading a unit. A guy who comes in and works his 'tail' off every day of the week. That is willing to be a leader and help guys out. This is Aso, he's a true professional.

I'm shocked that the Texans are even being mentioned in any deal. Come on Rick and Bob make something happen. Get that shut down CB and make a deal with Aaron. Time to win is now!

My friend at work just emailed me this... says it was emailed to him from a friend of his who's always surfing this kind of stuff. I'm trying to nail down the actual source. But it's juicy enough to keep this thread going:

Rumor is Haynseworth to the Texans for Slaton and a pick. I'm not sure what level pick or the amount of Haynes contract would be the Texans liability for cap purposes, but i'd be on board with that given we arent completely overwhelmed with his contract......and that he actually decides to play.

Again, this is NOT reliable information at this point. Am surfing the googles now to try and track down a link or source.

    That ship has sailed.

Seymour, Haynesworth, and Shaun Rogers are the only realistic DL targets.

What's funny is Roy is actually turning in a really good season for the Cowboys and they still suck (and I love that). They were never a Roy Williams away from a Super Bowl. Some of their fans just convinced themselves of that much like some of our fans have convinced themselves our offense can overcome our defense. Reality is that's just not going to happen.

Cutler is as talented as they come. He makes throws that nobody else can make (including Manning). However, he just doesn't put in the time in the film room nor does he settle for the smart play. It's like he watched the worst of Brett favre highlughts. He only looks for the big play and never checks down. Plus, he's an ahole and that will never change. He's a better version of Jeff George.

As you know, i completely agree on Aso and Albert. I'm more all in on Aso because i think you can find a D Lineman much easier then you can find a guy of Aso's caliber. I'm selfish so I want both because I think they are there but at least give me one. Like I've mentioned, I'm also a Lions fan so I'm loyal to a fault but our owners owe us better. Texans fans are some of the best in the NFL (except for you clowns who talked trash to Chiefs fans and then checked out with like 7 minutes left).

I think those trades make us a Super Bowl contender. If they don't work out, you won't hear any complaining here. In fact, I'll applaud the front office for trying to win now. It's time to win.

Pretty sure he got that from the last few pages. I think someone on here suggested it.

    No this is on Profootballtalk.

It's more of a "It makes sense for the Texans and Redskins to do this..." type of thing

That's the rumor that was thrown at ProFootbalTalk. Just speculation at this point.

    Looks like it's from profootballtalk:

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...haynesworth-thinks-hes-ready-to-play-tonight/

Sounds like Florio's conjecture, but it makes sense in the context he put it in. They need youth at RB and they run a zone scheme, we need beef on our DLine and run a 4-3 scheme... and the teams front offices are quite chummy...
