Big strikeout by Clemens, but I don't like Chipper being up in this situation. WAY overdue to make something happen. Double play ball would be monstrous here. 1st and 2nd for the Braves, 1 out. Chipper up.
Let me be the first to admit that baseball is not my first love as Houston sports fan. 1) Football (Believe it or not - I just don't get to watch enough Texan games in Maryland) 2) Basketball (Love the science of basketball) 3) Baseball (My least favorite sport) In that order... There are some die-hard Astros fans in this thread (they know who they are). I'm just glad the Astros are having post season success. At least they have a balanced team to do it (not like years past). And it's always nice to have one of the best pitchers of all time!
Even if you don't follow the Astros, or baseball, throughout the season... there's no reason why anybody cannot get wrapped up in a playoff run. In fact, that's how many fans start to become "die-hards" in any particular sport. I know the Rockets championships bought them a lot of new fans... why?... because they used to average only 9,000 a game before them. You're born with Football fanaticism (if you're from Texas)... plus, its the most popular sport in the country... and I've never met anybody who "hates" football (but I have met people who can throughly dislike the other two sports). Baseball is different... its such a long (sometimes boring) regular season... and they play everyday (making each game seem that less meaningful). BUT... I have yet to see a sport that creates as much drama/tension/excitement/joy at any given moment... plus, I do feel that it has the BEST post-season out of all the sports.
