    I think Garner wanted the Braves to pitch to Ausmus in that situation and wanted the Braves to believe that if he had to pinch hit for Backe that he was going to bring in Roy O.

    I see no reason Backe can't go the distance right now. If he can go 8 and bring it to Lidge, that's good, If he can only go 7, we have Oswalt in the 8th still.

    I say keep him in. He got the hitters down. He knows what pitches to pitch to them. His last pitch was 94mph. He's in a groove.
