Well that was the rumor anyway on why Hampton was let go. Maybe I should have specified that it was just a rumor. But I heard it a lot.

That, or the record-blowing contract he received from Colorado... which he never would have sniffed here.

At least we got Dotel...which led to us getting Beltran... in the deal for him.

EDIT: Didn't look like Baggy and Mike looked at each other after that single... hmmm....

That slow curve from Roy is wicked. Throwing that after a 95 mph fastball is brutal on the hitter.

Roy is hittable today, all singles so far, but letting the Braves have baserunners every inning is going to catch up to us, we got lucky yesterday that noone could come up with a clutch hit

yeah they are hitting him hard but i think they are getting lucky on some of the pitches. He is not giving them anything easy they just hit a few pitches that he put over the plate.

EDIT - Just as justice said his location is not the greatest...and he's leaving pitches high which they are tagging.

Whenever Roy throws 3 curveballs in a row... its flirting with danger.... but Drew just missed that pitch.

That took some cojones to throw the 3-2 curve with two runners on base. Great pitch by Roy.

A 30 mile per hour difference in his offspeed pitch and fastball is just wicked.

I sometimes wish that whenever Roy gets hitters to look silly on that curveball, and they swing thru it... he would just come back with a hard fastball right on the hands.

It would freeze the batter every time... he did plenty of that in his rookie year in 2001.

Of course, maybe that's what the "scouting report" says he'll do, and thus him and Chamo try to change it up every now and then... I just think whenever the batter guesses wrong on that curveball, it will screw up his timing in the rest of the AB for his 95+ fastball no matter what.
