Well - I'm on my way to Atlanta to cheer on the 'Stros! I wish I could have been there yesterday but the kids were still in school. If you see a gray haired man, sitting next to some babe and cute kids with one throwing up in a bag (he's sick but not too sick to attend) - That would be me! (the old man). GO 'STROS!
I agree. I think when Ausmus, arguably our weakest position player bat on the team, homers off the guy who has been sitting most everyone else down, it kind of shattered the jitters all the players were feeling. Made them realize this is not brain surgery. Just do what you have been doing for the past 40-50 games. And if we are to bean anyone today, I say make it JD Drew. That guy sits out if he breaks a nail. It would guarantee we get one of their dangerous bats out of the lineup.
Man this team is getting me hyped!!! I'm ditching work early to go home and watch the game ... GO STROS!!!!
I hear you Josh...we had a little party up at the office yesterday. I got a call about 5 from my 4 year old son. He said he was watching the game at home, and asked when I was coming home. My wife got on the phone and said he'd been watching the whole game with his Astros cap on. I busted ass to get home at that point!! While there with him, we saw the little kid crying. He said, "look, daddy..that little kid in the braves hat is crying." and i said, "yeah..and you're the little kid in the astros hat laughing!"
Im sure this question has allready been asked in this thread but i dont wana go through all 22 pages of it! So heres the question, Will Beltran be ready for game 2 after getting hit in the ribs? I kno Garner said he was having a hard time breathing...
Unfortunately, he's listed as questionable. That really pissed me off when he got hit, don't get me started on how pissed I am if it was intentional. We gotta have our best player at near 100% so this sucks.
Andruw Jones's AB after Beltran got nailed was hilarious. Dude was so scared of getting hit, he looked like a pitcher up there. Stood an extra foot from the plate, bailed out, watched, and then had the most feeble swing I've seen in awhile. As Clemens got near the dugout he said something that looked like "He knew." Had a little grin on his face too. We should know around 1 PM if Beltran can go, once he gets to the park & takes some hacks & a little OF. "this is about to get ugly" (bottom of the 1st, 0-0) "we've already lost this game (hell we may not even score), may as well get clemens out and rest him for game 4." (mid 2nd, 1-0 Braves) "this game is OVER...we just cannot compete in October...its a friggin JOKE" (bottom of the 2nd, 1-0 Braves) "typical astro playoff baseball." (bottom of the 2nd, 1-0 Braves) The preceding was just about the most gutless frontrunning bandwagon jumping candyassery I've ever seen. Nut the **** up. "DIE BRAVES DIE!!!!!!" - cwebbster "Now we destroy." - Meowgi That's more like it. Our Astros karma was all positive at bw3 yesterday: -Stros down 1-0, walk to car b/t innings, give $ & a beer to guy wanting a meal at This Is It...return to bar = Ausmus HR -earlier flirting w/ waitress = gives us remainder of bucket of beer left on other table = immediate Bagwell RBI double, Berkman HR -RM95 offers older lady his chair during the 5th = Beltran HR & Kent RBI 2B
If for some reason he dosn't play, Roy O. is going to have to get some pay back! Oh & Thanks for the answer
Yeah they did when i walked into the bar i noticed all the coozies and other stuff around the bar and everyone had one....
i reserve the right to be as negative about the astros chances as possible at any given time no matter score, count, or situation.
Haha yeah, like Randy Quaid in Major League 2. "They'll blow it in the ninth, they will." "They'll blow it in the playoffs, they will." "Oh my God! Oh my God! He's back, it's Vaughn! YEAAAHHHHH!!!"
Being being negative and knee jerking is just their child like way of releasing frustration. Kind of like telling your mom you hated her when she wouldn't buy you the new G.I. Joe figure at Woolworth's.
I'm not sure how reliable this is, but it has Beltran listed in the starting lineup for today: http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/gamecenter/preview/MLB_20041007_HOU@ATL
