Man, this sucks. I have a class that starts at 4:15, and doesn't end till 5:30. The game will be over by the time I make it home!
Everyone here at Live started laughing there butts off when they saw that boy crying. I was thinking to myself man...all these grown people enjoying a little boy cry kind of sad and fufulling at the same time.
I guess it's not really going out on a limb, but if Beltran doesn't play, you can BET that Oswalt will bean Chipper or someone comparable if the game is in hand by the 5th or 6th inning today. It's time to show your leadership skills Cy, I mean Roy; I've looked forward to today's game ever since the elimination game in ATL in 2001 (as I mentioned in the other thread).
yeah i am pretty sure it might even come earlier than that if there are 2 outs and someone like Chipper is up to the plate.
i doubt anything happens as far as retaliation. maybe in the regualr season but i don't think they'll do it now.
Well I'm not misunderstanding you (if that made any sense at nearly 4am for me), but Chipper is arguably their best (all-around) bat in the lineup. If Atlanta was going after Houston's best hitter, then the converse should be the same, that's if retaliation is a factor. I suppose if the Astros lost game 1 then it would almost be a necessity to light a fire, but the way Houston has played such great, focused team ball down the stretch, it would be out of character. But then again, if Clemens can throw a bat at a baserunner during the World Series then anything's possible...
That's what Luis Gonzales said on ESPN radio. He said in the regular season it is one thing and that the Astros should remember it especially if he doesn't play tomorrow. BUt they should not jeopordize any men on base just to get someone back right now. The playoffs are to valuable and you shouldn't put yourself in that position.
man, i'm freaking loving this team. great win, yesterday. clemens struggles through the first few innings, and you still come out with a big win on the road! go 'stros!!!
Maybe later in the series, but you dont put Clemens in a position of being suspended. Great Win, I left early yesterday so I could watch it.......friggin awesome!!
Stack, thanks for the great atmosphere yesterday, we will definitely be back!!! I love watching the kids cry. We have had so many disappointing playoffs that the Bravos deserve some pain. I know I was crying when we lost to the Mets in 86. It isnt like the Braves have never had any sucess. As for taking someone out, no freaking way. Lets retaliate by kicking their candy asses. I just want to win. I dont think that the pitch on Beltran was intentional and even if it was, I just want to win the series and go kick some red bird ass.
Biggio after Ausmus' home run. That home run by Ausmus was HUGE. I think it was really what fired the offense up yesterday.
