Take Clemens out after 5. He's going to be on short rest for game 4, I'd like to avoid a needless pitchcount here.

Its nice to know we can give up a solo shot and still be ahead by 5 runs. Haven't had that luxury in recent playoff memory.

Hopefully he gets out of this, and then you pinch hit for him in the top of the 6th. Let Harville or Springer go out, Qualls for the 7th, Micelli for the 8th, Lidge for the 9th. If you don't want to use Lidge, throw in Wheeler before Qualls.

    nice job by clemens

tight strike zone today + a little sluggishness from clemens from the illness were probably the biggest two factors in his near 100 pitch count by the 6th inning

    :)

we're seriously keeping him in the game? i thought it was a fake out before the PH came up. we don't need to pitch clemens until his arm falls off.

Yeah, I'd say I don't like this decision to keep him in because we'd need him for game 4, but then again, I don't need to worry about that because it's gonna be a SWEEP!

maybe he just wanted to bat? I'm really baffled by this move.

Its one of either two things.... Garner didn't want to waste a good pinch-hitter with 2 outs in the inning, nobody on base, and a 5 run lead...

    OR

Clemens feels like he wants to go one more inning, and if he has any trouble at all, go ahead and bring the pen in. Remember... before that Jones HR, he was actually cruising in that last inning.
