Good point. His fire-breathing emails to me since suggest he's a little frustrated. I'm still laughing from the animated gifs you and MR. MEOWGI posted. Awesome.
bagwell again shows why he's so good with that kind of speed from a power-hitting first baseman. if the braves played it correctly he would've been out but still his ability to run made that run happen.
Yeah... but he's had 2 days off in a row now... if the score stays the same, I'd pitch him one inning just to keep him sharp. You know that Roger isn't going to finish this game... and I'd rather not have any heart palpitations in the 9th. Also... with this being the playoffs... the multiple off days really negate any chances of "closer fatigue." I'd rather he be warmed up and sharp, than cold and rusty.
I'd like to see Clemens get one more inning and then let a reliever take an inning each. Clemen's pitch count is getting high and has been fairly wild. THis way, we get some of our relievers without any post-season experience with a big lead in a low pressure situation. Should help them the rest of the way. If Clemens gets a 1-2-3 inning here, you can let him start the 6th for sure and see how it's going.
Hey, it's not his best stuff but more then enough to get the Astros a win. The bullpen better not blow it for him like they did all season along.
i had the exact same feeling before the andruw jones at bat as before the scott rolen at bat against clemens a week or so ago. clemens is gonna throw a fastball down the middle and they will crush it. the first time because clemens was frustrated, this time because clemens could sense a 1-2-3 inning and was feeling good.
