Chavez not gonna get that oine. Yadier friggin Molina

This is very good, I hate the Mets with a venegance. At least I have respect for StL. By no means is the Astro-StL rivalry a bitter one. There is mutual respect for the 2 teams. I have 0 respect for those cocky NY bastards.

Well, looks like Wagner's downfalls this series prevented Randolph from going to him in the 9th... you'd think you'd want your best possible pitcher up there in a game 7, when you're at home and you know there will be no "save".

Then again... it was the bottom of the lineup, and Yadier Molina is not a power hitter.

Lets see if Wainwright can cement the legacy as St. Louis' next closer... hell, i'd rather him close for them instead of being a starter (which I feel he'd be more valuable as)... so if he does well, it might be good for the Astros.

I hope the Tigers pluck every last feather out of the Cardinals in excruciating and humiliating fashion.

What is it about crappy-hitting catchers coming to life in the playoffs?

    2004 & 2005 - Ausmus with clutch HR's.

    2006 - Yadier Molina.

    Unreal.

Wainwright is good, but not your typical filthy closer. He looks like he could a dominant starter however.

Who would have thought when the Astros were a 1/2 game back with like 5 games left, having just swept the Cards, that the Cardinals would be going to the world series? And that they would be doing it with Pujols having 1 RBI in the NLCS? This is some kind of managing job by LaRussa, and a gutsy performance by StL. Props to the Cards, but we'll get your asses back in '07.

Its all Jeff Suppan... 0 ER and a HR in game 3, and 1 ER (3 hits?!?) in the deciding game 7.

Mets weren't figuring to face that... then again, they weren't figuring that Maine and Perez would start 4 out of the 7 games for them, so I guess it just shows that every NL team has its weakness.

I'm so saddened watching this game knowing the Astros could have done away with the Padres/Mets.

I don't think anybody will argue that... hell, even if the Astros were beating the Mets in 5 (which they would have ;) ), I wouldn't have been too high on the team we just beat.

The Mets aren't the Yankees... not when Olier Perez is your game 7 starter.

Floyd being up there reminds me of some weird combo of Gibson in 88, and Bagwell last year... what he does will determine who he reminds me of more.

EDIT: Guess it was Bagwell... now a DP wins it.

wow...this is a great win-win for Astros fans, assuming you are rooting against the Cards.
