Congrats...they also went from the world series to not making the playoffs. My understanding is that most Astros fans were expecting a re-appearance if not winning it this year? Looks like they took a step back, where as the Reds surprised everyone, future looks good. Thats neither here nor there though. Both teams are out...so go Mets!
Reds fans are quitters, you are a red fan. you are a quitter. Haters Hate. (moi) quitters quit. (you)
This is great, the Tigers are going to mow the winner down the way the Red Sox mowed down the Cards a few years back. They are also going to make our sweep last year look competitive, which is actually was.
The Astros have finished either first or second in this division every year since 1994... the strike year (which, ironically, was the last year the Reds were expected to do anything). There was also 2000... but that year netted us Lance Berkman becoming an everyday player, and sped up Roy Oswalt's development... so when you factor that in, it was a pretty damn good year. The Reds, while they had a good year, have a future of Dunn and possibly Arroyo... which is still a step back from Lance and Roy.
Agreed. The Tigers will kick the living crap out of whoever wins the Mets Cards series. They will sweep, and they will look like Murderer's Row in the process. I will be very surprised if any of the final for any of the games is within a two run spread.
What a play by Chavez!! We'll be seeing that one for a long time, even if the cursed Mets lose. Brilliant play.
I wonder how Billy Wagner will respond in this game... the Cards look like they have his number, and the Mets need him more than ever. (also, Preston Wilson... 0-3... 3K's... getting pinch-hit for in the 8th. I'm sorry St. Louis, why did you pick up our trash?)
Met's pullin an "Astros" and becoming very anti-clutch with runners on base. No hits since the first...jeez.
