I'd rather see the Mets win than the Deadbirds. I don't hate the mets, but I do hate Beltran. But I hate the Cards, and their coach....etc. Almost as much as I hate the Cubbies.
If the Cards win, then I'll just feel that much more bitter about this season. If the cards can beat the Mets, then we sure as hell could because the Cards have garbage for pitching and an offense that very well may be worse than ours.
yeah, i'm officially rooting for the cards. it's odd for me...but i was watching last night and definitely found myself rooting for the cards.
Ditto. Edmonds and Pujols get on my last nerve, but Wagner's way beyond it. Plus, I have good friends who are lifelong Cards fans, so I guess it'll be good for them.
Same for me. I am not sure if it is Beltran, Wagnor or the "friends" who were Mets fans in 86, but I was definitely rooting for the Cards
St. Louis fans are dead... barely making noise, not standing, treating this like some regular season game against the Pirates. Contrasting this crowd with the one that welcomed the Tigers back in game 3 (and tonight)... and then thinking about the hisotric playoff crowds in Yankee Stadium, Fenway, and even in HOUSTON.... pretty crappy showing for the so-called "best baseball city in America".
That new Busch Stadium in StL is so plain and bland, it lacks character and distinction and isn't special. How clutch is Spiezio??
And the base is really cranked up on their speakers for some reason... reminds me of the old PA announcer at the LA Forum during the late 80's and 90's ("eeeerrrrrrrrrvin johnson")
drayton mclain's fautl.....he's obviously a racist (just kidding) but you have to wonder why he was released. it was only a 1 year deal and he finshed 3rd on the team in RBI's....wouldve been 2nd cuz biggio played more games...
Who cares about lineups... when Jeff Suppan shuts down a $100 million dollar lineup, it really looks silly to waste money on them.
With just slightly better run production, we would have been in the playoffs. A great pitching rotation doesn't mean much when you're watching the LCS on television... I am rooting against both the Mets and Cards. I guess if I had my way, the Cards would lose but Wagner and Beltran would be simultaneously injured when their inflated heads got too close to the sun.
