i still can't get over the pitching. backe painting corners like a cy young candidate, lidge being so good you can't even believe it. 4 innings and 2 days and then a dominating 9th where he made pujols look as bad as he has ever looked. lidge gets the win and it couldn't have been scripted better with our big guns coming up in the 9th. AMAZING!
OK, I was in airports and on planes all day long today, but I made it in time for one inning -- the ninth. Just in time to see this. I called my wife -- who's not a baseball fan -- in for the bottom of the ninth because, as I told her, "you're going to want to see this." She said she'd never seen me so happy! Oh, and my buddies and I were saying Sunday night (before tonight's win) that we should pitch Munro in Game 6 if we win tonight. so I'm on board for that plan.
Man, is this a total rush, or what? Perfect... just a perfect ending to the game. 9 out of 11 winners of 3 out of the first 5 games in the NLCS have gone on to win the series. Let's make it 10 out of 12! AAARRRRROOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
I love Kent tossing off his helmet and laughing as he jumped on home plate. That's the most real emotion I think I've ever seen out of him. GO ASTROS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Earlier in the season, I joking told someone we were running out Pedro Munro and Cy Backe. Cy Backe certainly seems appropriate now, doesn't it? I am in total disbelief. No matter what happens from here on out, I have never and may never enjoy a season more. Brandon Backe just threw one of the best pitched games in NLCS history. Carlos Beltran literally made about $40 million in the last 14 days. I have had about 12 heart attacks. This is too much fun LET'S GO ASTROS ONE MORE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
