Lidge in the 9th... this is standard practice for games that are tied, and you're the home team. You bring your closer in to ensure that you either win the game, or it goes to extras.
Red Sox just won on a hit fom David Ortiz, talk about clutch, back to back games with a game winning hit.
damn how can we pitch lidge in the 9th? he's already on thin ice. he should be saved for one inning if we get the lead or for if this game goes to like 12 and he has to pitch. worst call of the night by far to palmeiro.
have both teams set a record for weak popups in one game? this is amazing how clueless the hitters look. oh man here comes lidge. this is very scary with the big boys coming up.
I like the move to bring out Lidge. Gotta play your best. and Clemens did say..."It sure is great to be young"
Bringing on Lidge here is very questionable. Garner is playing with fire. He has thrown 4 innings the last 2 days, his control will probably be off. I hope it works out...but man it is risky. Maybe it is just for this inning. 1-2-3 hitters, and that includes Pujols. DD
WHy did we send up three pitchers to bat that inning? *shudder* sending in the closer in a tie game. That's mad baseball karma...
Steve Lyons talking about this move being possibly questioned tomorrow. You live and die with what got you here; there isn't anyone else i want on the mound in the 9th.
All you questioning Garner right here... what would you do?!? Make your suggestion now, before something happens...
