I know it matters a lot to Clemens... and that's why they're doing it... but I also know that Roger can pitch in any condition, so its probably mental. It matters to me more at home because there's nothing more beautiful than MMP on tv when the roof is opened... I've loved this stadium ever since they built it, and I want the rest of the country to see a side of Houston they've never seen before. Now... that homer to Edmonds MIGHT have stayed in the ballpark had the roof been opened... and I'm serious this time. Looks like Roger is leaving his splitter up as well.
sigh..... what is wrong with Roger is right. 5 days rest and yet this is the result of it so far..... so far it's not hurting roger that much, but ya can't keep giving up solo hr's at this rate.... pretty soon that'll translate into the big innings for the cardinals :\
Roger has now given up 4 HR's in 3 games at MMP against the Cardinals. Its also probably a good thing that their homers are comin early, rather than late... chances are, Roger will adjust and fine tune.
Edmonds will go down as one of the all time Astros killer, if not THE all time Astros killer. In 19 years of watching the Stros, I can't think of anyone who killed us the way he did (maybe Andre Dawson).
Maybe... but this is probably the first time he's hurt them in MMP in the last 2 years... but the stats he had in 2000, 01, and 02 in Houston have to be some of the best all-time for a visiting player. I just remembered that we had been doing a pretty good job against him here recently... whereas before, I would cringe whenever he came to the plate in Houston. Now, that feeling is gone... but it might be comin back...
what a stupid ass decision to swing by pujols but ya take the outs anyway you can get them I suppose.
