I am out of town, so that's why I had the "learn how to make money fast" ads. Game is on the air now for me. Man, Gotta love this. Why is the roof closed?
WHY THE HELL IS THE ROOF CLOSED?!!!?!!! This is one of the all-time great weather weekends in Houston... sky is clear, temp is in the 80's... this is ridiculous. I'm guessing that Roger "requested" it or somethin... but still, this is a dissapointment.
Open the damn roof... its beautiful outside... this team has yet to play an NLCS game in Houston outdoors. I thought we escaped the dark dreary insides when we left the dome... this is dumb. I already know that the roof is going to come into play today.... whether it be on a pop up that hits foul territory, or one that hits in fair territory and drops, leading to a crucial run scored.
The baseball gods are not going to be on our side if the roof is closed on such a beautiful day. I had a feeling Mclane would do this. Its a weak move.
They'll probably open it later on through the game. I hope. Time to start a winning streak stros! Astros have have a 4 game winning streak against the Cards in Houston. Keep it alive! Root for the Good Guys!
Why would Mclane do this? He has no reason to.... the ballpark looks much better on TV if the roof is opened. This call has to come from Garner (thru Roger and the players) or maybe they did it at the beginning for the Cammy memorial. All I know that it is a damned shame that these players are too finicky about the sun and shadows that they can't handle playing outdoors... baseball was meant to be played outdoors, in the sun, with the shadows, and with elements such as wind and humidity in play. Why did they even bother building the retractable roof then... they should have just kept it cheap and built another astrodome.
And thats probably why Mclane is doing it. Thats not a good way to show the faith you have in your club. I just know its going to screw us somehow. You don't shun mother nature when she blesses you with a gift of a day to play ball under. ugh.
I hope so too... but there's really no point it having it closed now because its only 85 degrees outside. There's no reason to open it later... it won't get much cooler before the game is over. If its shut at the beginning of the game, its probably staying shut.
That's it... I'm already nominating the "roof being shut" as the scapegoat if we lose any of these next three games. We are really tempting the gods... no team should be playing indoors on a day like this. (and its even more hillarious that they actually played a game outdoors in the awful weather that was game 2 in STL.... unbelievable). In fact, the chronicle stated on Thursday that, barring RAIN, the roof would be OPEN for all three. This call came from the clubhouse.
right on, the stros start the game at such a point of weakness by doing this. the announcers are even perplexed, saying for whatever reason the roof is closed on an absolute beautiful day. I almost feel that they don't deserve to when because of this, what p*****s.
