Yeah that was something I noticed as well, hopefully it was a fluke cause those guys killed the Dodgers.

Any word on Womack and if he is going to play? Not having him up there in the top of the lineup really helps us.

Also Renteria and Sanders were hitting Munro not Clemens so we have a bright way of looking at that.

I really want to come out of the gates storming and getting a good lead. I don't want another close game like yesterday.

I agree, please, please blow them out of the water!

Just let the Stros have a 5 run lead going into the 9th.

My grandfather died without ever seeing the Colt .45's win or the Astros get to the World Series.

My parents fear the same is going to happen to them in their old age having watched the Astros for over 40 years.

Please God, just this once break down the wall that you've put between Houston sports teams and championships and let this team reverse forever the choking label that this franchise has carried with it. Just once give the good citizens of the city of Houston and Astros fans world-wide the celebration they never thought they would live to see.

Wow, that is so true....my parents are in England right now, and my dad was watching every bit of the game on MLB.com GameCast, and it was like 3 am over there. I hope they do it for him and my grandpa. They have been disappointed so many times by the inadequacies of the Houston sports franchises, they were happy when the Rockets won it all, but this is the World Series that we are almost at. The World Series is the gauntlet of all major sports. I rank it higher than the Super Bowl and higher than the Naismith Trophy. I put it on the same level as the Soccer World Cup, as the accomplishment it is to get a pennat. I want to see my childhood heros, Bag's and Big get their rings. Please God, I know I ask you for alot, and you rarely grant me my wishes, but this one time, please let them win.

I will say one thing...if we lose this game, then God is cruel. Why?

Because this next series match-up is one made in Heaven.

Jeff Bagwell, who we acquired from the Boston organization back in the Larry Anderson trade, and Roger Clemens, who went to the Yanks after his stint at Boston, are destined to come back to Boston to wreak havoc against their former teams.

If we are denied this, then we will be cheated while feeling ripped off. Plain and simple.

GO STROS! JUST DO IT! THERE IS NO TOMORROW!

Biggest game in franchise history and im going to miss it. my first day of work starts at 7 tonight and i work to 4 in the morning. Luckily i am far from Houston and hopefully i can get out of work and come watch the game around 4 am w/o knowing the result. i can only hope so...

now on to the game we have Roger Roy and Lidge tonight. if our offense just gives us a little it should be a W. i think they will do more than a little.

    Astros 13 Cards 2

For one thing, no matter what happens, I don't want to see Micelli in the game, period. It's like bombs away when he takes the mound. And Biggio HAS to get it together. He did well against the Braves, but in this series he has disappeared, and he is leading off. It boils down to this, if the Cards can beat a pitching line up of Clemons, Oswalt, and Ledge, they deserve to go to the Series. If Clemons can hold them without runs for three innings, I like our chances. And our hitters have to start out slamming early and get to the Cards bullpen, who, I think, are emotionally "spent." I am hoping for a blow-out, no drama, I have had enough. Just beat them, beat them early, and celebrate til Saturday.

Funny you would say that. On the last game of the Braves matchup, I accidently clicked on the subscribe to this thread by accident. There were like 20 posts a minute. Man that sucked. My damn msn messenger kept going of f saying I had new emails.

It took me a few min to figure out how to un subscribe. :p

Clemens shows why he is the real deal and why the Yankees were screwed this season with out him. The Astros will have a good day with the bats too.

    I forsee a 8-5 Astros win.

This game boils down to Biggio being able to get on base. What did beltran do in our last game facing elimination? He only went 4-5 with 2 HR and 5 RBI. Biggio just happened to go 3-5 that game. I think Clemens will be on his A game tonight. I wonder if Womack is in the lineup. Lets go Astros! I know ya'll can do it.

Nomar came up with an awesome video for tonight.

intro: 1 second flash clips of rocket, os, lidge, beltran, berkman, bagwell, kent

voice over morpheus from reloaded: "i believe.. this night holds.. for each and every one of us... the very MEANING... of our lives."

cue kent's home run with the Fox audio

then cue Beltran's catch, and his homer and him stealing a base

voice over morpheus again "I don't know what he can do to save us. But I do know that as long as there is a single breath left in his body he will not give up and neither can we."

    That sounds badass!
