Doesn't really matter if we couldn't score runs. Right now we just have to look forward to tomorrow and the ROCKET/OSWALT connection.

Miceli should never be allowed to pitch again....but that being said, it's not like the Astros hitters didn't have plenty of chances to win this one in the 9th and in extra innings.

I guess if there's something positive to take from this, it's that Game 2 had the exact same score and the same winning and losing pitchers. The following game saw Clemens pitch the Astros to a victory. Will history repeat itself?

To be fair, Miceli has been consistent in this series. VERY consistent.

Well, I guess the gamble to bring Miceli in didn't pay off.

On the bright side, we probably won't see him pitch for the Astros again...ever.

Roger on 4-days rest is gonna get them tomorrow. Lidge only threw 30 pitches today and should be good for one inning tomorrow.

We are going to win this thing. Believe.

Tomorrows rotation is Clemens (5-7 innings), followed by Oswalt, followed by Lidge. If anyone else comes in we are in trouble because that will mean one of those three had a bad game. We should win if they are all on their game.

History can lick Miceli's balls for all I care! We're going to the World Series

Maybe so, DD. I heard some numbers earlier today about starters going on three days rest in the playoffs, and their record was like 12-30 or something horrific. Plus, those are usually your best starters doing things like that, and they are still failing most of the time. We'll see tomorrow night just how valuable our investment in Clemens was. After all this team has been through this season, I just believe we'll take care of business vs. Suppan tomorrow night. IT may be close early, but hopefully our bats come alive like they did late vs. the Braves in game 5.

That has to be it. If Garner does 1 more stupid thing, he should be fired on the spot.

I absolutely HATE facts like that... history doesn't mean CRAP! Look at what Boston has done...look at what the Astros did to get here...look at what the Astros did this series (comin back down 2-0)...history has been against us ALL season and we've won...history was supposedly on our side today and we lost...so screw history...because we got the Rocket.

I got a little bit more confidence in all our relievers, especially Qualls, but if he ever brings Miceli in again, he should be shot. Miceli giving up runs never happens if Garner doesn't bring him in. He better not!!!!!

Suck it up guys. I'm upset, believe me I'm upset. This game was a heartbreaker, but it's time to move on and focus on tomorrow. This team is one win away from the world series, and we have our best pitcher on the mound tomorrow. It's going to be an all out battle and I can't wait to see it.

The choke award this game goes to Craig Biggio. Forget that play where Pujols went to third on that popup, If he gets on base one
lousy time for Beltran, its a totally different ballgame. Biggio has the worst possible approach a player can have who bats in front of the hottest hitter in baseball. I mean he goes up there hacking at balls out and away up and away and I don't think he ever got a full count. Instead of trying to work a walk or get on base he is up there swinging under the ball with his eyes closed. The dude just flat out sucked it up. And the fact that the Cards are not going to pitch to Beltran, that makes Biggio the most important player in that lineup, imo. I hope he steps it up tomorrow night. He has too.

Yeah...lets fire a guy that took us farther than any other Astro's team has taken us (if we lose).

    A couple of things --

It was a wasted opportunity, but mainly because our bats were so quiet. Throwing Munro sent a clear message that we were hoping the offense would come through big, and it didn't. We were saving our big gun pitchers for Game 7 or Game 1 of the WS.

So don't lose heart ... it's one game for the Series, and we have Clemens on the mound. It's still a great opportunity that any of us would take for this team. If Clemens and Oswalt can give us 8 innings and our offense is hitting, I like our chances.

Honestly, what has me worried is this: We really can't touch Tavarez, and not much luck with Calero either. We have to get to Suppan early tomorrow. And Biggio 0 for 6? Come on Craig. Honestly with the exceptions of Games 4 and 5 against the Braves, Biggio has been terrible. A leadoff hitter going 0 for 6 hurts. He needs to come up big tomorrow.

they barely won today with our worst pitcher starting

if they win tomorrow, with our best pitcher starting, then my hats off to them

    i feel good about tomorrow

i believe in big mo, but we had HUGE mo after Monday's win, and we lost the next game ......Cardinals have big mo now .......it won't matter ...they still have to beat The Rocket

Either I'm feeling overly confident, but I'm not THAT upset tonight because of Clemens and Roy available for the next one.

All right, don't wanna see Micelli ever again. And Lidge still rules.

    Game 7 belongs to H-Town.
