Miceli was MUCH better against lefties all year than Gallo... and Edmonds hit Gallo pretty damn well the last time he faced him.
Micelli is horrible.....he has lost 3 games for us this post season. He needs to be dropped from the World Series roster..... And YES, we are going to the series. Clemens vs Suppan.. Come on....???? Stros pound em tomorrow 8-1.... I think the fact that we extended this game was a big deal, we are gonna win tomorrow, in prime time so all the nation can see. DD
Do you really believe that someone can come in and pitch 6 games in 7 days and not be affected at some point? Why not pitch him for 162 games??
I would've rather taken my chances with Springer there, but Garner is trying to go by what he saw in the Regular Season, but Dan Miceli just can't pitch in the post season Go get em Roger!!
That's 2 losses right there. Miceli's days in Houston are numbered. In fact, I'm not even sure he should bother to show his face in Houston ever again. Interesting stat: Of the 10 teams that went home down 2-3, only THREE have ever forced a Game 7. ALL THREE went on to win Game 7. History is NOT on our side, folks, Clemens or not.

I still have faith in this team and I still think it was smart to save Clemens for a potential game 7. I believe.
guess shouldn't be so harsh on dan... it's not like he CHOCKED or anything.. this is what we all expected.. he is consistant and always comes through the same way fo rus..
maybe if the big part of the lineup was coming up or we had a lead (well if he had a lead then no doubt pitch oswalt) but in a tie game that could go on for a while and with oswalt definitely needed to help out in game 7 i just don't think you can pitch him. doesn't mean you put miceli out there because my sister has better stuff than he's shown in the playoffs, but no oswalt w/o the lead.
Well, tough loss, but I honestly thought the Cards would win today. IT hurts to lose that way, but I still feel pretty good about tomorrow. Think about it- we got Clemens in the offseason for games PRECISELY like this. Game 7, trip to the World Series on the line. I wouldn't want it any other way. Oh, and if Oswalt can still come out of the pen, then even better. Lidge, too. This series deserved to go 7. For as much as we've heard about the amazing Boston-NYY series, and it has been that, this series has been just as competitive. These two teams are about as even as it gets right now. Lethal lineups, comparative starting pitching, erratic bullpens. It'll be fun, and I just hope "the good guys" come out on top. No time to stop believing now!
The Astros have lost 5 games this postseason, Miceli is the pitcher of record in THREE of those games.
As soon as Micelli came in I knew it was over. The crowd knew also. They started cheering when they realized it was Micelli on the mound. Barf.
It is only smart if we win.... I don't think the game goes extra innings today if Clemens was pitching. We probably win 4-1 with Clemens going 5-6 and the bullpen shutting them down. I hope Garner did the right thing, it is what I would have done...but man.....this hurts. DD
