Going into today's game: Cardinals' regular Nos. 6-7-8 hitters going four for 43 (.093), the Astros' regular Nos. 6-7-8 hitters going eight for 50 (.160). Renteria just had his first RBI's of the series today... and he expects to get paid 10 million dollars next year.
The bullpen has been HUUUUGE today. It'd be a real shame if the Astros bats waste the effort because I definitely don't feel the same guys could shut the Cards bats down again tomorrow if they were to be called upon.
You are correct but with both teams so evenly matched, it's the little things like this that can make all the difference. Curious, would you blame what's happened today on poor pitching or poor hitting or both?
I would blame Munro for pitching batting practice for 2 1/3 innings. Other than that the Astros would've been well off.
